Surviving -20°C and -30°C requires more than just layers it's an art. Check out these tips:
1. Layering: Base layers (vest, tank top, t-shirt) followed by a thermal top, fleece insulation (fleece jackets, sweater, fleece lined hoodies etc.) and a mighty snow jacket. Trust me, this is the triple threat against Canadian chill.
2. Footwear: Insulated boots, snug-fitting sneakers, etc. Always check the weather the footwear can withdtand. They usually write things like "for -20 or -30 on the tags.
3. Outerwear: A waterproof, windproof coat is the frontline defence. Denim won't cut it; think heavy-duty warmth! For very good snow pants and jackets, you might want to try @oshkoshkids as we got ours from them.
4. Hats: Beanies and wool hats: the unsung heroes of winter. Ensure to shield those little heads from the biting cold.
5. Gloves: Knit or velvet gloves? It's a matter of survival. Pick wisely to keep your children's hands warm.
6. Strategic Dressing: Breathable yet warm cotton sweaters or jackets are the secret weapons for Canadian winters.
