This is a real photo of me in the olden days on the Cover of Playboy Magazine.. a real Playboy Cover Magazine.. today I'm seen as AI in so many of my photos.. I am not creating my still images from AI..

Photography itself was once treated as suspicious because it wasn't painting. Then came darkroom manipulation, airbrushing, filters, retouching, compositing, digital cameras and Photoshop. Now AI-assisted editing sits further along that line. The important distinction isn't simply “AI or not AI?” but what was actually done to the image.
If you take a genuine photograph and use AI to clean scratches, sharpen a soft face, remove something distracting, extend a background or improve lighting, the underlying photograph hasn't suddenly ceased to exist. It's more accurate to say “AI-assisted editing” or “digitally restored/enhanced” than to dismiss the whole thing as an “AI image.”
Where it becomes different is when AI creates a person, event or scene that was never photographed and it's presented as documentary reality. That's a genuinely different use.
