Impromptu celebratory bday dinner for @dread_lord_sean. I brought some bubbles and a birth year Pichon Lalande for the old timer! 😜

Had an enjoyable dinner, highlighted by some wonderful wines

Unfortunately the '66 was a tad past it's prime and should of been consumed 10-15 years prior, though it did have remnants of some beautiful stuffing that showed glimpses of what a stunning wine it once was.

The highlight of the evening was the 1976 Riesling. Not a huge surprise knowing this vintage was a hallmark for this grape. Lots of parrafin, damp basement, bruised pear, honey and dusty notes.

The bday boy brought the Ornellaia, a big, lush busier, the acid saves this and keeps it in check.

A fun evening overall celebrating Sean🎈

If you stop by Osprey and have any wine questions -or- requests, ask for the lovely @alexandria.eh ...she is their somm🤟🥂

It was December 2020 when my Director sent me a gift certificate to a very fine dining establishment here in Orlando> Chatham's restaurant in the Dr. Phillips area....well after an email correspondence and 24hrs later, we were in...Finally!!....My buddy was here 6mos. ago and found John Morgon dining with Bill Clinton, so it must be good right? Well it was...the Escargot, Beef Carpaccio and seafood pasta were yummmm🫶

All the wines were Delish,
I brought the 2016 Pol Roger brut...not too unlike the Base brut, but def. more refined and elegant. Lovely🫶

WOTN was the 2006 Malescot. At 20yrs of age this beauty is ready for consumption. Gorgeous velvety black raspberry, tobacco, hints of saddle leather, cassis, fine balance, medium bodied. Just a gem, so glad to have a couple in the cellar.💥

The crew finally stopped by Coro. I've been wanting to dine here for some time. Coro Restaurant is a chef-driven contemporary restaurant in Orlando’s Audubon Park, known for creative, adventurous seasonal small plates that mix Florida ingredients with unexpected global influences. The vibe is of a casual cool eclectic restaurant, with an open kitchen and a strong neighborhood feel rather than a stuffy fine-dining atmosphere. Michelin awarded Coro a Bib Gourmand in 2025 and retained it in 2026, recognizing its combination of excellent cooking and good value; Michelin specifically highlights its inventive shared-plate menu and creative menu

Aside from rave critic reviews I've heard many great things from my foodie friends who have dined here and tonight replicated all these previous glowing comments.

I won't go into the intricate dishes but, I posted a menu for viewing.

As for the wines, I brought the 2014 Vilmart Coeur de Cuvee

Vilmart & Cie's Coeur de Cuvée is their flagship wine, from Rilly-la-Montagne in the Montagne de Reims. The 2014 is 80% Chardonnay / 20% Pinot Noir,

This was quite tart/underipe, alot of racy acidity, this did have some nice components to it, we tried to let it breathe a bit to see if this would resolve the tartness but to no avail. I don't have a lot of experience with champagne in the 2014 vintage. Hopefully just a one off.

BTW...the reds were excellent!!

Wonderful time at the Palms restaurant inside Universal Hard Rock Hotel celebrating @brian_spelled_the_right_way Big 50th!

I brought the Conseillante, which was nice but a bit shy, much better on day 2

WOTN for me hands down was the 2004 Palmer...lovely classic vintage, lovely classic wine, earthy tobacco, saddle leather, soft fruit, gorgeous texture. A fine Palmer.

Happy Birthday Again Big Guy 🥂🍾💥🎈

Last weekend the Orlando crew joined forces w/ the Del Ray Fl.wine group...what for you ask? Well...it was as if a Pseudo Wine version of Anchorman came to life & Ron 'Lets Drink' Burgundy declared...Burg Team Assemble!!!

A big THANKS to all the hard work put forth making this a reality by @brian_spelled_the_right_way & Wine Room proprietor @Brucesimberg...Both groups convened for a dreamy epic Grand Cru Burg tasting at Bruce's newly converted Wine Room Kitchen & Bar which currently holds a World Record for the most wines served by the glass w/ a total of 180.💪🏼

Brian had recently spent his 50th birthday exploring Burgundy & he came back immediately wanting to go to the next level by exploring each of different Grand Cru vineyards, or as many as realistically possible. So that's how this came to fruition & this night did not disappoint. It was a phenomenal evening🤟🏼

I also want to go into some background on the restaurant..the talent behind the program. Exec. Chef Blake Malatesta built a menu around premium steaks, sustainable seafood & seasonal ingredients. The restaurant has earned Wine Spectator's Best of Award for Excellence...Also of great interest is ...
Their cheese program led by Max McCalman, one of the most respected cheese experts in the world. McCalman is a Maître Fromager (Master Cheesemonger), a James Beard Award winner & the author of several acclaimed books on cheese. A real fascinating dude.

I highly recommend anyone coming into Florida to stop by this ultra charming vibrant gem of a town.

Truly the kind of evening I live for🍷 cheers

The crew gathered together last night for a little supper club action at Ravenous Pig in Winter Park... food was excellent and the service was spot on....some great pops tonght🍷🍾🥂🍇

I brought the Bara🍾
Wow, this is big bouzy Pinot Champagne action.Spécial Club 2012 (typically ~65–70% Pinot Noir / 30–35% Chardonnay)...initially I thought this is barrel aged but apparently it's not, but this is quite a full bodied pinot champagne. Lots of oyster shell notes, chalk, stone fruit just a big juicy champagne really nice..some real power here🥂

I recently picked up a bottle of their Tete de Cuvee- The Annonciade... I'm super excited to try that apparently these are barrel-aged as opposed to the special club which is stainless steel fermentation.

Neutral Milk Hotel was an American indie/psychedelic folk-rock project centered on songwriter Jeff Mangum.. It grew out of the late-80s/early-90s Elephant 6 collective of DIY home-recording friends (including members of The Apples in Stereo, Olivia Tremor Control, etc.).ed8d72
Allmusic
They released only two proper studio albums: the lo-fi debut On Avery Island (1996) and the far more celebrated In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (1998)

After the Aeroplane tour...Mangum largely withdrew from performing, recording new Neutral Milk Hotel material, and the public eye. He has described a period of mental/spiritual crisis and crumbling assumptions about reality; the sudden attention, intense fans, and touring stress contributed.

Amazing Band 🫶🏼... wish they would have done more 🫤 by @winebod4ever

Return to Kabooki!....This time for the Tomahawk!🥩

It was also time to check in on the latest Henri Giruad Perpetual Reserve the 21/90.

Henri Giraud PR 21/90 is one of Champagne's most exciting Perpetual Reserve blends. It's an assemblage of wines from 1990 through 2021, with the youngest vintage bringing freshness while more than three decades of reserve wines add extraordinary depth. The blend is predominantly Pinot Noir (about 80–90%) with 10–20% Chardonnay, sourced primarily from the Grand Cru vineyards of Aÿ. Aged for roughly three years on the lees with a modest dosage of around 5 g/L

This is so fresh, focused and lively, crisp citrus, that chalky/mineral edge, hints of brioche, finishes with some lime zest. So glad to have 🍾🍾 more bottles🤟🏼

I also brought the '89 Dunn completely unbeknownst to my buddy Sean bringing the '84...The '89 started a bit shy, but developed a bit in the glass. Very Bordeaux'esque, good but not to the level I was expecting....well that didn't matter because the....

'84 Dunn was on 🔥 This bottle was absolutely singing and a clear WOTY Candidate. Another beautiful Dunn that was reminiscent of a Top Growth left bank Bordeaux. The only thing that might have given it away is the slightly sweeter fruit profile. An absolute Tour De Force... provenance was spot on, as this bottle had been purchased directly from the winery and kept stored until Sean obtained it from a recent auction....what a score❤️
@dunnvineyards

The food was fantastic as usual and predictably consistent....I would like to point out that if you look close you may find an interesting culinary juxtaposition....Yes a Pasta dish! Al dente rigatoni tossed in a vibrant spicy alla vodka sauce with succulent bites of guanciale. I'm sorry to say it's not on the menu... Come to find out, Chef Henry also has a passion for Italian cuisine and wanted to get our opinion....well I for one vote for the Moso'lini Italian Joint ASAP!!! 😂🤪 @henry_moso88

We left beyond stuffed. I can't help myself when I come here, I just want to consume everything!

The Tour is On!! One of my favorite times of the year...The Tour de France....this year it started on the 4th of July... you know you got to start with the bang 💥

Great weekend with family in town... and some fireworks at our local lake with my daughter Sweet Jett! She was in bed most the weekend, so I'm very happy she was feeling a bit better 🫶🏼🙏🏼

Popped the Pontet Canet....a nice wine, none of that 03 ripeness, in fact the fruit felt like it was fading a little bit. some nice light tobacco notes, some earthly pauillac notes, dry plum and pencil shavings. not overly complex...seemed more like an easy drinking Bordeaux ready to consume now. I bought this on release, though half of its life was spent passively cellared. so this might not be the best example, but it was still a fine wine.🍷

A wonderful weekend ♥️

Finally got out to the Newest location for Sushi Saint this week. This is the old Bar Kada spot next to Michelin Star Soseki which is their sister restaurant... in fact to access Sushi Saint you must enter through Soseki and then take the immediate doorway to the right.

saint is a bit different than the Old Kada, it's a little brighter and upbeat atmosphere... maybe this is what the previous concept was lacking. Though for the record I love Bar Kada and sad to see it go.

I was curious to see if there were any carry-over menu items from Bar Kada.... only one item made it and that was the Caviar Donut...well, you know I was going to order that...so decadent ♥️

The starters were the hamachi truffle potato which I love, the spicy edamame, shichuan cucumber dish.
Then we went through a host of Maki and closed with the wagyu steak ($75) which to my dismay I think I could have eaten the whole thing of one bite 😩🫤...Ovverall the food was excellent and I would return.

for the wines we started with the...

2016 Fabian Coche Meursault, my first time with this producer and hopefully not the last... I believe this is unfiltered... out the gate this was a banging bottle of white burgundy, gorgeous scents of sea breeze and oyster shell and lemon. pear, hazelnut, full, robust ... who says you need to drink premier cru or Grand Cru burgundy this is just as appealing... probably my white burgundy of the year so far....well done.👏🏼

2012 De Gall Orpale...after popping this a couple months back I declared it one of my favorite champagnes for 2026, Tonight proved this was no fluke...a lot going on, full body, big structure, robust, lemon bomb, stone fruit, racy citrus, toasty brioche as it warms a bit chalky minerality. This a real winner

2013 Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Beaux Bruns — Silky, elegant, and beautifully perfumed. Layers of wild cherry, raspberry, violets, and subtle baking spice, mineral-driven palate.

Return to June in Thornton Park @juneinorlando

June is a contemporary Mexican (Yucatecan-influenced) spot focused on wood-fired cooking...though its Mexican, you may dine here and never know...Prime Rib, Short Rib and Duck were killing as usual!! ...June deservedly received a Michelin rec. for 2026💥

Chef Jason Campbell is the executive chef...a highly regarded chef here in Orlando who previously worked at other notable restaurants like Ravenous Pig, Cask and Larder and Luke's. He made a visit to our table to catch up and chat about the menu. To my chagrin, it appears the Duck might be coming off....this is one of my favorite dishes here....I am very sad to hear of this change.

Great wines all around

I brought the 2015 Pol Roger Bdb: this was very good. nice light creaminess, tangy orchard fruits, crisp, lemon zest, quite refined and regal stuff

A great night and looking forward to returning to June in the near future

Slow to post my Father's Day pics.....with pops out of the hospital we were able to have a simple burger/hotdog cookout...So Happy for Cage and I to be able to spend it with him.

First time drinking Feytit Clinet... I've been sitting on this bottle for about 12 years.

this had a little bit of a New World/Old World style... Nice Juicy plush Merlot pops from the glass which I didn't expect out of a 2008...def. thought it would be more subtle.. new oak touches in play here, definitely glad I didn't drink this young the oak probably would have been a little higher than I prefer...but then the old world action kicks on, tomato puree, tobacco, lavender, herb medley and leather.

Lovely stuff🍷...Another great Father's Day in the books...Cheers🥂

Supper Club Thursday

Some tasty wines popped

Palmer BdB ....100% Chardonnay grapes from the Trépail and Villers-Marmery vineyards. These Premiers Crus from the Montagne de Reims are blended with Chardonnay from the Côte de Sézanne. The Palmer & Co style is known for its elegance and balance, developed through aging in chalk cellars.
This is sunshine in a glass, very clean, elegant, silky, bright, refreshing, this never fails!🥂🍾

Unicorn White D'Angerville....very cool, Medium-to-full bodied, ample yet precise, great tension between creamy texture and mineral-driven freshness. Classic white Burgundy

1996 Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill.... I thought all the great Diamond Creeks were in the 80s but this 96 is a gem...mint mint mint......did I mention mint? Cassis, black cherry, dried herbs, tobacco leaf and earth. Firm, structured, and still kicking with that signature Diamond Creek grip and herbal freshness. Old-school style🍷

We shared a 32oz Porterhouse....don't order this if you ever come here, just order the filet mignon because that was the only part that was edible, way too tough, a bit of a waste of money, sides were great though.

Jane was our server...she's was excellent 👍🏼
