Holy Sip Full Day Lunch Wine Tour in Osoyoos/Oliver 🍇⛰️🌵 A BIG THANK YOU! to all who made this trip a winderful birthday for my daughter!❤️ We couldn’t have had a better time with you all.🥰 Here is a list of the wineries we visited and a few fun facts for each…. 🍇 Rust Wine Co ~ The name “Rust” is a metaphor for wine. The winery chose “Rust” because rust evolves naturally over time, much like wine. Their labels are even inspired by photographs of actual rust patterns submitted by guests, staff, and friends. ~ Rust Wine Co. sits on one of BC’s oldest vineyard sites—and grows some of the province’s only Zinfandel.🍇🍷 🌧️ Rainmaker Wines ~ The winery celebrates “changemakers”. The Rainmaker brand is inspired by innovators, risk-takers, and people who drive positive change. Their motto is centered on rewarding those who dream bigger and reach higher. ~ Rainmaker Wines farms its own vineyards on the Black Sage Bench and Golden Mile Bench—two of the most prestigious terroirs in British Columbia.🍇🍷 🦉Burrowing Owl Estate Winery ~ The winery is named after an endangered species. Burrowing Owl was founded in 1993 and takes its name from the endangered burrowing owl, a bird once native to the South Okanagan grasslands. ~ Built around sustainability. The winery uses environmentally conscious vineyard practices, including bluebird nesting boxes, bat nurseries, wildlife protection programs, and a gravity-flow winery design that minimizes handling of the grapes.🍇🍷 ~ Our wine tour stopped here for a fabulous lunch in their Sonora Room. Great wine, food and views! 😍 Highly recommend!🙌🏻 🛻 Nostalgia Wines ~ This boutique winery is female-owned and operated. Nostalgia is led by Gina Fernandes Harfman, a fourth-generation South Okanagan farmer, owner, and winemaker. Her family’s farming roots in the region stretch back to the 1950s. ~ Classic cars inspire the brand. The winery’s nostalgic theme comes partly from Gina’s former career detailing and collecting classic cars. If you love Sauvignon Blanc… you need to meet Bacchus 🍇 I know it’s been a minute since my last post, but I discovered this new grape at a sample tasting @suttonplacewinemerchant the other day and just had to share ☺️ Originally from Germany (created in 1933), Bacchus is a white wine grape known for producing super aromatic, fresh wines. It is a cross of 🍇 Silvaner and 🍇Riesling/🍇Müller-Thurgau, so it’s fruity and floral. Bacchus thrives in cool climates and is usually dry, crisp, and often with lower alcohol. Pair it with: Goat cheese 🫕 seafood 🍤 Thai salads 🥗 asparagus. Arrowleaf Bacchus 2025 🗺️ Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦 🍇 Bacchus 👃 Passion fruit, elderflower, thyme, lemongrass 👅 Citrus, pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit, floral 📝 So incredibly refreshing! Montes Alpha Special Cuvée Carmenère 2022 🗺️ Colchauga Valley, Chile 🇨🇱 🍇 Carmenère 90% / 🍇 Merlot 5% / 🍇 Cabernet Franc 5% 👅 Whole lot of black going on here (blackberry, black cherry, black plums, black pepper), dark chocolate, tobacco 📝 This full bodied, fruity red blend was incredible! Thoroughly enjoyed with aged cheeses 😋 Definitely need to be getting more of this! Henry of Pelham Bin 106 Limited Edition Lost Boys Baco Noir 2023 🗺️ Niagara, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 🍇 Baco Noir 👅 Black cherry, blackberry, vanilla, oak spice 📝 From the #1 winery in Ontario (and the #3 winery in Canada!), comes this fantastic limited edition Baco Noir. Vines were shovel-planted in 1984 when the Speck brothers were young teens growing up in Niagara. The fruit is aged in spicy North American oak and finished in subtle European oak. A superb example of this special grape I first sampled at a recent local event and had to have a bottle of my own. Garzón Reserva Albariño 2024 🗺️ Garzón, Uruguay 🇺🇾 🍇 100% Albariño 👅 Citrusy (lime, lemon, grapefruit), peach, pineapple, saline, mineral 📝 A beautiful medium body white with a delectable finish! 🤤 Heavy Atlantic influence provides a subtle sea breeze like quality, yet it has this creaminess I just love. Seriously so quaffable! Our weather has been nothing short of glorious lately, making me happy to continue enjoying great whites such as this on the ☀️ patio. Collab and Bloom Fleurieu Rosso 2021 🗺️ South Australia, Australia 🇦🇺 🍇 Montepulciano 🍇 Sangiovese 👅 Cherries, blackberries, savoury herbs (oregano, thyme), cocoa 📝 Another easy drinking sip from Field Day Wine Co!
