A little impromptu Zinfandel tasting with friends with a nice charcuterie board. While both were quite good the Ridge was the favorite.🍷

2018 Vincent Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon.🍷
.
Pretty plum color. Great balance of fruit earth and spice. Medium tannins on a slightly oaky finish. This is my kind of Pinot. Great with our homemade pizza. 🍕
.

I have to plug for @vincentjf
He makes honest, quality wines at a great value. Stop buying grocery store Pinot like Meomi. Get on Vincent's email list. Buy some wine. You won't be disappointed.🍷

It’s smoking hot at the beach this weekend. The only way is to Rosé. Riverbench Rosé of Pinot Noir is one of my favorites.🍷
.
Light, crisp and refreshing. But with a lot of depth from the Pinot. Perfect for those hot summer days.☀️
.
If you are a fan of Rosé, I suggest that you seek out this @riverbench Rosé. You won’t be disappointed. 91 points IMHO. 👍

Joined some dear friends at their newly finished mountain house this weekend. We celebrated with this beauty with some ribeyes grilled on the Big Green Egg.🍷
.
The wine was outstanding but the company was better.👍

Nothing says spring like Rosé. I bought a few of these 2017 Westerly Rosés last fall. Just about the time the weather turned cooler. The time never seemed right to open one up. I've been dying to try this wine for nearly six months. It was worth the wait.🍷
.
@westerlywines has done it again with this Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a lovely blush color leaning more toward dark peach than pink. The nose is apricots, white peach, minerals and a hint of vanilla. The nose is a little shy and needs to be coaxed out. The flavors are amazing and come through in waves. First is buttered bread and jam followed by pear, apple with touches of citrus and oak. Very nice. It has an amazingly long, slightly spicy finish.🍇
.
This Rose should pair great with the usual springtime fare. But it's no lightweight and should hold it's own with your BBQ and grilled meats. I give it 90 points IMHO.👍

Hosted a few couples at our house for dinner. I wanted to do a wine tasting featuring some Westerly wines mixed in with a few others. 🍷
.
There was a distinct male/female dividing line of the favorite wine of the tasting. The ladies unanimous favorite was the Westerly Cote Blond. This wine is a bit more fruit forward and floral. The guys favorite by far was the Westerly Cabernet 2015. Such a stunning, opulent and powerful wine. A perfect pairing for the grilled filet mignon.🍇
.
Both of these wines are 90+ point wines. Seek them out. You won't be dissapointed..👍

A quick trip to Austin, TX to watch our son compete at the NCAA swimming championships. I wanted to visit at least one Texas winery while we were here. Settled on Duchman. It was a good choice.🍷
.
They are making some very enjoyable wines from mostly Italian varietals, all grown in the state of Texas. Our three favorites were the Viognier, Aglianico and the Progression 2. If they were able to ship outside of the state we would have purchased some to send home. The grounds were lovely as well. If you ever find yourself in the Austin, TX area I would recommend a visit to @duchman_family_winery .🍇
.
Our visit to Austin was very enjoyable. I really like this city. I only wish we would have had more time to visit.👍
