In recent years, the practice of the Jakarta-based collective ruangrupa has gained exceptional traction in the contemporary art world. Their appointment as the Artistic Director of documenta 15 in 2022 has allowed a more compelling understanding of the collective’s practice guided by the values of “lumbung,” “an alternative, community-oriented model of sustainability in ecological, social and economic terms, in which resources, ideas and knowledge are shared.” The book How to Pin Down Smoke: ruangrupa since 2000, published in 2025 by Afterall in association with Asia Art Archive; the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College; documenta Institut; and the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, University of Gothenburg, maps out the genealogy of the animated and complex ecosystem that ruangrupa has cultivated and which has shaped the trajectory of the group’s practice. march 2024. happy birthday to me. re-reading the printed edition of power naps post and imagining a tele-celebration with these friends who live particularly far away but always feel close to heart. sharing fluffy chicken joy as well. i enjoyed reading friends' writing so much that i thought it has become a hobby of mine and a source of strength and possibilities. b/w bird photograph by south ho (such a great image). the index takes inventory of the possibilities. it's difficult to always stay happy in world(s) so chaotic, but still it's not the end yet. boom. by @wingchanwww

throwbacks. Fish 🐡inventory check. it started more than a year ago. this series is edited by Özge Ersoy and Merve Ünsal and hosted on m-est.org. i still remember how unsettling i was re-reading Merve's 'with the breath of the wind like a small cloud' in the same series over the past year. unsettling in a positive sense. it was the major influence for my 'Banana Box Bears' in power naps #1. right before power naps took shape, a slightly different version of 'Banana Box Bears' was published on noexitsmag.com. no-exits is edited by Arianna Mercado and Izzy Waite. they are the coolest people in town. this is how writing connects three publishing platforms. woohoo. thank u and hugs @ozgeersoy @munsal @aczm @kansasshotglass @no.exits.mag by @wingchanwww

summer 2022. kitchen and home. park and markets. stream and waves. lost coins and beams of light. flowers and balls. a new broom. trứng cốm, ruốc, canh chua, laab squid, puffy pancakes, kental manis cokelat, kaymak, ayran, kombucha, oatly, gelato, mooncake in hot soup, and the simple act of caring whether you need a pair of shades to write in the heat. not to forget. by @wingchanwww
