A really productive day at Wyke Sports Village for the 2026 British Cycling Yorkshire Regional Meeting & AGM.

It was great to bring together board members, volunteers and people involved in cycling across the region to reflect on the past year and discuss what’s ahead for Yorkshire cycling.

The key takeaways from the day:

📈 Grow participation — create more opportunities and bring more people into cycling.

🚴‍♀️ Develop young riders — strengthen youth pathways and support the next generation.

🏆 Support racing — continue delivering great events from grassroots to national level.

🤝 Back clubs & volunteers — recognise and support the people who make cycling happen.

🌟 Build the Yorkshire cycling community — work together to create a stronger, more connected future for the sport.

For me, being part of the British Cycling Yorkshire Regional Board is about contributing to these conversations and helping turn them into action.

After a tough week at National Youth Track Championships at Manchester Velodrome, we popped into see Rosie from @back2fitnessphysio to give Elsie a muscular massage, and work on a plan to loosen Elsie’s body. Using prosthetic arms for cycling does different things to the body than able bodied riders, so we are trying to reduce the risk of injury and improve Elsie’s mobility and strength. Rosie is working with Elsie’s S&C coach to improve Elsie. 🥳 by @wingy245
