Greetings, stewards of our biosphere,

We're excited to announce that this November Falling Moon breaks new ground, cutting deep into the heart of the city for a show at the legendary @thesociallondon.

Join us on the 16th of November for the @kasparhauserkh single(s) launch with support from @_glass_eel and @winnipeg.mn.

It will be a great Sunday treat! Particularly for fans of birds, slimy elongated fish, cities in canada, dubious german characters, trads, other folk music, long conceptual albums, good old indie rock and the perpetual sense of loss and confusion.

£8 advance (link in bio) or OTD. 18+

***

Winnipeg, MN is a six-piece band, originally formed in Brighton and now based in South London playing folk-inflected indie rock. We are AJ (bass), Catherine (violin), Jamie (guitar/vocals), Nathan (guitar/harmonium/vocals), Sam (clarinet/harmonium) and Will (drums).

The project was started by Jamie in Brighton in 2019 and has since grown into a larger group of friends playing music together. As a solo project Winnipeg, MN released an EP and two full length albums via Brighton’s Eyeless Records, and built momentum on the London and Brighton DIY gigging scene for a few years. The band expanded to fully realise the recorded music, as well as to allow for collaboration in songwriting. This expansion is rooted in a love of making music with friends, and as such fosters a DIY ethos and spirit in everything we do. The music we make is influenced by a range of artists from bands like Big Thief, Songs: Ohia and Modest Mouse, to composers such as Steve Reich, Claire Rousey and John Cage. This results in an eclectic but coherent output, tied together by a strong sense of rhythm and Jamie’s vocal melodies.

“Winnipeg, MN’s sound can only be described by saying it should be listened to alone with no outside distractions” - The Indie Scene

“Winnipeg gives an embodied performance that is full of reflection and emotion that stays with you long after their lilting vocals and spectral guitar lines finish.” - The Rose Prick

“Traces of Bright Eyes or Xiu Xiu are evident in the vulnerability Moore brings to his vocals, but it’s an arrestingly original twist on an already strange style” - Brighton Source by @winnipeg.mn

We’re playing at @shacklewellarms on 6th July! And it’s Free! Weinorpeg Forever ! by @winnipeg.mn
