END OF AN ERA
being a van dweller served me well and made me into the person i am today. it was a home turned art project that kept me sane for the last two years i spent in whanganui. i'm stoked to be back in my home city with my loved ones but i will forever look back on what this little nugget van did for me fondly. i grieved in this van, i loved in this van, i saw my country in this van. i found myself in this van.
ngahuia the nugget. ZZ5105. previously zeus. my little 97' hiace babe.
thank you for your service... today i see you off for good coz i got bills to pay lol
check out highlights and previous posts to see her in her prime. i'm still so proud of everything i achieved w her.

(yeaaaah still dont have my learners though, still no clue how i got away with that for years)

bittersweet; crying in the club, but we're dancing still...

how do i sum up neck of the woods and what it means to me in a single caption? i can't...still going to try though: this club has been a home away from home for me for years. i've worked my little butt off in this club, i've danced my little butt off in this club and i have made connections that will last a lifetime here. it is an ESSENTIAL hub for rising artists in this city... a place of grit, devotion, aroha and endlessly sticky floors. for years @neckofthewoodsnz has been a home for the outcasts, queers, creatives and cool kids of auckland and i am so deeply grateful to have had @pro_cat_and_canine_friend @foxglovenz welcome me into this whare of sound back in 2020. the waves this angel-humans mahi and aroha have made in the community can not be understated.
the setting last night was the pure definition of bittersweet. as the waves of sound vibrated through our feet we chanted our gratitude with linked arms and cracking voices, refusing to stop the flow of noise until daylight was well and truly present, like to stop the music would to admit to ourselves it might well and truly be over.
but i believe in the grassroots determination of this scene.
donate to the cause, keep the wubs running through ya, support your local dj, support your local venues. please VOTE. please DONATE ♥️
and to my neck whanau: until we meet again ! (and we will)

the divine violence of sound will make you crawl out of your hole like a rat and gnaw at life once more. bite down on that unreckonable force . . .

i got a guitar that has been many places, a love for many faces,
the man got stabbed to death,
was a poet and a war vet
odd how common that is…
