FORTUNE FRIDAY ✨⠀ Hey! I am @nymphishkelly and this Fortune Friday I will be talking about Fire Scrying.⠀ ⠀ Fire scrying is very similar to crystal ball gazing.  The difference is that you only need a flame of any size you'd like to fire scry.⠀ ⠀ Fire scrying can be used for more than just divination. You can personalize it for spell and ritual work by useing candles with specfic colours and/or scents. For the sake of this post I'll focus on divination purposes.⠀ ⠀ For divination you can use anything you'd like to create a flame (SAFELY). Once your space is ready for a flame to be burning and it is at a comfortable angle in your line of sight, get a purpose for scrying ready in your mind. Then get comfy and gaze at the flame. As you gaze relax your body and allow your purpose be the only thing in your mind. If it begins to slip away let it! As long as no other thoughts replace it you're good.⠀ ⠀ This is when your consciousness will wander into the other realm and your questions will be answered! Allow yourself to slowly exit the other states of consciousness, and always use a candle snuffer to extinguish candles and small flames, and pour water on large flames!⠀ ⠀ Don't get discourage if you do not understand the message or feeling that comes to you while you're scrying! It takes a lot of practice! by @witchesofinsta_
THROWBACK THURSDAY with @coillewitch Lughnasadh (pronounced LOO-nah-sah) is the first of three harvest celebrations in the Pagan Wheel of the Year. It is typically held from sundown on 31st July through sundown on 1st August, though some celebrate on or around 5-6th August reffered to as “Old Lammas” or “old style Lammas”. The festival can also be timed astrologically to coincide with the point where Leo reaches 15 degrees relative to the position of the sun. Agricultural timing is also an option, as Lughnasadh might be celebrated as the first fruits of the harvest begin to ripen in your own garden or regional farmlands. In Ireland the first of August was celebrated as Lughnasad, and in Scotland it was called Lunasda or Lunasdal. In the Isle of Man the day was celebrated as the Gwyl Awst, or Feast of Augustus. In England it was called Lammas, a derivation of the Old English hlafmaesse, loaf-mass. This was an excerpt from Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials, Lughnasadh. The history is incredibly interesting and I wish I had the world count to share it with you! If you’re interest I would highly recommend this book. by @witchesofinsta_
MAGICKAL TOOLS TUESDAY with @luna.morrigan ⠀ ⠀ MEDITATION⠀ Meditation is an essential part of witchcraft, especially if you're not very vocal. If you don't feel comfortable saying your chants and incantations aloud, you can say them in your head while meditating, meditation also helps you contact your deities, angels, spirit guides, etc.⠀ ⠀ The steps of meditation:⠀ •Step 1: Make sure your space is nice and tidy. The clutter around you can clutter your mind.⠀ •Step 2: Sit down in a comfortable position. You can lay down if you want to, but sitting allows for easier breathing and more stamina.⠀ •Step 3: Close your eyes. Begin looking within your own mind, forget about the outside world for a while.⠀ •Step 4: Just breathe. Take long, deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth.⠀ •Step 5: Release all physical tension. Relax all of your muscles one at a time.⠀ •Step 6: Allow your thoughts to flow by without paying attention to them. Just let your mind be. Don't concentrate on anything.⠀ •Step 7: Have patience! Not everyone is good at meditating, not everyone can get it on the first try, have patience and don't doubt yourself.⠀ ⠀ •Turn on music if you need to. For me, music helps me get into the meditative state. I suggest "binaural beats", guided meditations, or nature sounds. You can find all of that on YouTube.⠀ •Consider meditative aides. Prayer beads, incense, essential oil blends, crystals, etc.⠀ •Meditations chairs and cushions are nice, but if you can't afford one, they're also not necessary.⠀ •Don't try to meditate for 30 minutes at a time if it's not something you're used to. Start small, 2 minute meditations, if you can handle that, the next day try 5 minutes, start slow.⠀ •Keep a positive, happy, loving attitude.⠀ ⠀ Benefits of meditation:⠀ •Lasting emotional control, even when you're not meditating.⠀ •A new found compassion.⠀ •Meditation reduces pain.⠀ •Improved cognition.⠀ •Enhances creativity.⠀ •Sharpens concentration.⠀ •Reduces anxiety and fights depression.⠀ •Lowers blood pressure.⠀ •Improves blood circulation.⠀ •Less stress. by @witchesofinsta_
MOON MONDAY with @venusintulle⠀ ⠀ DIY Rituals for the #FullMoon : I get asked a lot to write spells, or where my spells/rituals come from and as I have been practicing a few years now I tend to make my own rather than copy from other books or witches. I’m sharing with you my own correspondences for working with Moon Magic and would love if you tag me tonight so I can see what everyone is up to! ⠀ by @witchesofinsta_
SPELLBOOK SATURDAY with @sufiwitch⠀ ⠀ Money spell⠀ You will need: a green candle, green paper, and a fire safe bowl. ⠀ ⠀ light a green candle (or white if you don't have green). Cut out some pieces of green paper and write desired amounts of money on them. Carefully burn the green pieces of paper while invoking your intentions, your deities, or spirits. Recite an incantation. ⠀ ⠀ “Money, money come to me,⠀ In abundance three times three,⠀ May I be enriched in the best of ways,⠀ Harming none on its way,⠀ This I accept, so mote it be,⠀ Bring me money three times three.” ⠀ ⠀ After this, whenever you find any coins on the ground, thank your spirits or deities and place the coin in bowl with the ashes. Keep the bowl around and it will attract money. by @witchesofinsta_
FORTUNE FRIDAY with @venusintulle⠀ ⠀ In honour of sending this #BlackMirror to it’s new home this week I wanted to touch on Mirror Scrying. There are so many ways to practice this form of divination from bowls of water, crystal balls, and even fire scrying it’s a great way to practice your meditation. When scrying with a Black Mirror you want to set yourself in front of the mirror with a candle below the glass to offer a dim light. Meditating in the glass over time you may see shapes, symbols, messages or even spirits within the glass or your own meditated mind. Black Mirrors are used often for spirit work and past life divination and are best kept “under wraps” when not in use.⠀ by @witchesofinsta_
THROWBACK THURSDAY with @wendy.vanzalingen Marie Laveau As some of you who watched american horror story's season named coven might know, Marie Laveau (the first) was a very powerful witch of color who practices voodoo. She ran a business as a hairdresser and acquired a lot of information this way. But what i only learned after researching her more is that she had a very big clientele of wealthy white gentleman and some ladies from high societies who would come to her for consultations and to hex their enemies and such. Due to the money she made from these clients she had the position to help a lot of colored people in her own community for free. That is one of the many reasons why Marie Laveau is still to this day so loved by many. by @witchesofinsta_
