Fact: I'll be performing at @truepridefestival in Salford on 1st August. Nobody there will ask to see documents, panels, or "proof" before I walk on stage. And can you guess which bathroom I'll be using? Stage time 9pm. And that's it. No debate required. by @witchoteast

Fact: I'm an Irish trans 🏳️‍⚧️ woman. My birth certificate says so.Ireland has recognised trans people by simple self-declaration since 2015. One form. No panels, no psychiatrists, no two-year wait, no strangers voting on who you are.Meanwhile Britain runs a system so slow and so degrading that most trans people never finish it. That's not safeguarding. That's attrition by paperwork, and every year it grinds down people who just want their documents to match their lives.You were told self-declaration would be a disaster. Eleven years next door says otherwise. No crisis. No scandal. Not one of the catastrophes you were promised.So when a politician tells you legal recognition is too dangerous to allow, ask them one question: what does Britain know that Ireland doesn't?Nothing. It's my birthday today 🎂🏳️‍⚧️And here's what I'm celebrating: almost 5 years sober. Making music and art full-time, on my own terms. Still fighting for my community 🏳️‍⚧️, and still here myself, which some people take very personally.No filter. No makeup. No armour. Just me, bare-faced, looking straight down the lens at a world that keeps debating whether women like me should exist, while we're busy existing beautifully.This photo is the final scene of my new documentary about trans lives in the public eye.They tell you transition ruins your life.
