Laura Fidalgo is a jazz vocalist and Ph.D student in Pittsburgh, as well as the host of 90.5 WESA'S new series, "Taking the Mic." Fidalgo grew up in the Canary Islands of Spain and says she's found the jazz scenes to be masculine and hierarchal both in Spain and in Pittsburgh. However, she remains "hopeful" after talking with the women that are part of the "Taking the Mic" series.

It’s going to get quirky. If I were you, I’d go.

🚨THURSDAY MAY 14: THE PEOPLE’S CONCERT ft. Witch’s Mark & Trailing Iris!

A Fundraiser for The Party for Socialism and Liberation

📆 Thursday, May 14!
📍 The Government Center
🕖 Music @ 7PM!

$10-15 Suggested Donation (Collected at the door)

Join us for The People’s Concert! Local musical acts Witch’s Mark (@witchsmarkband) and Trailing Iris (@trailing.iris) will be performing at The Government Center (@thegovernmentcenter) to support the organizing efforts of the Pittsburgh branch of the PSL.

Come out to support our struggle for a society where political and economic power is in the hands of the working class and the oppressed, and the basic needs of the population and the planet are planned for and guaranteed.

Right now, we’re organizing to:
✊Protect immigrants in Allegheny and surrounding countries from being targeted by ICE
🚫 Oppose imperialist wars of aggression against Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran
🇵🇸 Support Palestinian liberation through local boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) campaigns

It is possible to defeat the billionaire agenda and make a better world. If you want to help make that happen, join us at The People’s Concert!

The people united will never be defeated!
