I wish I knew this sooner…

Resets were the solution to my problem. Little time didn’t have to mean no time to clean. That was a lie.

The all day Saturday cleaning marathons always left me feeling exhausted, and even if the house was clean, left me dreading the following weekend before it ever got there.

Until I started following a cleaning routine, I thought a routine was some strict guideline that would stress me out. But even before the routine I learned to follow…was THIS ⬇️

I started focusing on working on small resets when I had 5,10, even 15 minutes at a time. And I realized the most important thing. That GOOD ENOUGH is good enough. Examples 👇🏼

Waiting on my coffee to brew? Unload the dishwasher and rinse breakfast dishes and put them in the sink.

Getting ready to leave the house and want to come back to a peaceful living room? Put the pillows and blankets back on the couch and clear the coffee table.

After dinner? A nightly tidy was the first thing to change my home. Counters cleared off, sink empty, dishwasher started. Vacuum the living room and kitchen.

Want to learn how to reset every area of your home? Want to customize different resets to fit YOUR life?

I’ve been a little quiet, and this is why…

For the past six years, Within These Four Walls has been such a meaningful part of my life—and yours.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to talk about more than just what happens inside the four walls of our home.

I want to write about what happens inside of our lives.

The ordinary days. The full seasons. The things we’re learning as we get older. The hard days. The things that have the ability to bring us together.

Motherhood, faith, home, meals around the table, friendship, starting over, changing seasons of life, and figuring out what really matters.

I don’t want this next chapter to be about doing more or doing everything perfectly.

I want it to be about letting go of the unnecessary and making life a little less complicated.

About finding beauty in ordinary days. And remembering to choose joy.

About giving ourselves permission to do things differently when the season calls for it.

And this year has been a changing of seasons for me in many ways. A lot of questions, wrestling, and waiting. Prayer and more waiting.

Along the way I realized that I needed the reminder more than anyone. That good enough is greater than perfect.

Maybe I kept reaching for something that wasn’t meant to be a part of this new season. Sometimes change is slower than we would like and looks different than we planned.

So now…

I’m building something new, and I’ll be sharing more very soon. Within These Four Walls isn’t going anywhere. Just evolving.

If you’ve been here for a while, thank you for coming along with me on this next part of the journey.

And if you’re new here—I’m so glad you’re here. 🤍

God has been faithful to do some amazing things already and I’ve been listening more than I probably ever have before.

Because I have realized the most important thing. He’s always been there guiding me. But I haven’t fully let him lead. And if I’m not letting Him guide me in this next chapter, then none of it matters. There’s been more joy, peace, and clarity for me knowing this is where the path leads next, than I could have ever imagined.

The next chapter is coming.

Love y’all, Heather

I said what I said!

Brings me joy. Brings my family joy. That’s all that matters!

I’ll still be just as thankful this season as I would without the tree up. But this definitely makes it better!

Let’s do this! 💁🏻‍♀️❤️🎄(this is from last year, but my boxes are coming down today 😊) by @within.these.four.walls

I don’t know about you, but this is a struggle for me. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Leaving products out. Because I need to see everything.

But still wanting things to stay tidy.

I’ve tried clear container containers in drawers, but I don’t have the space for that. I’ve tried one makeup bag, and that doesn’t work for me either.

I try a smaller version of this before and that didn’t work either. Let’s hope I’m finally onto something!

Sharing in case you need some inspiration too!

First I decluttered, then wiped down everything and then organized it in this. It holds a ton. Probably more than I even need. But I like it doesn’t look stuffed full actually.

Tell me, would this work for you? Especially if you have ADHD. I want to hear your thoughts!👇🏻

These 5 products are usually always on repeat! 😎

You definitely don’t have to have all of these products to clean, but sometimes having the right product to make the job easier is worth it! 👇🏼

Y’all already know my love of @spraywayclean products and I make sure I don’t ever run out of their glass cleaner. My hubby and teens even use it on our vehicles! 🚗

This @methodproducts All Purpose cleaner is a staple in my kitchen. It’s an amazing degreaser and has a great light scent. 🌺

A cleaning classic, @softscrub has so many uses and is still gentle on surfaces. Another repeat product in my caddy.

When it comes to @barkeepersfriend it also has so many uses. I love it personally for a good scrub on my stainless steel sink. Be sure to rinse well! 💦

And we all need a quick clean, so that’s where the @clorox wipes come in handy. I keep these under our bathroom sinks so we can quickly wipe down the bathroom before quests arrive or any time we have just a few minutes. Especially great to use when cleaning the toilet in between deep cleans.

Need easy dinner ideas this fall?

Drop your favorite easy meal 💡 idea in the comments and then repost/share this with your friends so we can all benefit from some new ideas to freshen up our meal rotation!

Tacos are one of our go-go’s and even though I could probably eat them once a week, sometimes you want to change things up a bit. That’s where this meal idea came from!

Taco salad made with tortilla chips, topped with a blend of ground beef and Mexican rice, shredded fiesta style cheese, red onions, salsa, sour cream and avocado. We also love adding black beans, jalapeños or fresh pico occasionally!

So easy, protein packed and filling! by @within.these.four.walls

Nothing feels better than this…

and if you think you don’t have time, you do!

It doesn’t have to be perfect, just good enough. by @within.these.four.walls

Simple, but true! 😉

Probably one of the most important things to remember when simplifying your home is this…

“Just because you have the space for something, doesn’t mean you need to keep it.”

If you’re letting things take up space in your home and they are not adding value or being used, it’s just clutter. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What are you decluttering right now or what area do you need to work on but haven’t yet?

Next time you declutter a space, try and keep this in mind.

And remember, you don’t have to fill every single space! by @within.these.four.walls

This is the key to selling on Vinted!

Not to mention, it feels good to reuse something, and I have to buy new things to sell old ones!

Keep reading for a special October surprise! 🧡

Okay, back to what I wouldn’t do…

1️⃣ I wouldn’t distract myself with how big the mountain is ahead of me. (Because mindset is everything)

Commit to taking it one day and one small area at a time. You CAN do this. But you do have to start.

2️⃣I would have envisioned what I wanted my home to look like AFTER the clutter is gone.

Because VISION is so important so you stay on track and stay motivated. You need a goal!

3️⃣ I wouldn’t have made excuses for as long as I did and started my journey sooner!

And now is the perfect time…because you can grab either my Clear the Clutter ebook or 30-day Daily Declutter Dash challenge for just $9 through midnight from now until the end of October! ⬇️
