This career has taught me that success isn’t about simply showing up. It’s about showing up with discipline, intention, and the drive to keep getting better.

I’ve worked hard to build a career I’m proud of, but what matters most to me are the relationships I’ve built along the way. My clients aren’t transactions. Their businesses, their livelihoods, and their trust matter to me. I want to be the person they know they can call, rely on, and grow with.

👀☕️🕵🏻‍♀️When $650K allegedly goes missing, what insurance responds?

The recent Ajax Soccer Club case is a good example of why organizations, especially non-profits should understand the difference between Crime and Directors & Officers insurance.

Police allege more than $650,000 was taken from the club, with two former senior employees now facing charges. The allegations have not been proven in court.

From an insurance perspective:

Crime/Fidelity Insurance may respond to the organization’s direct financial loss from employee theft or fraud.

D&O Insurance may respond if directors or officers face claims alleging breach of duty, inadequate oversight or other wrongful acts. Depending on the wording, it may also provide defence costs for an accused executive until conduct exclusions are triggered.

Cyber Insurance could potentially come into play if compromised systems, credentials or social engineering were involved.

One incident. Multiple potential policies.

Having the right coverage is important but understanding how those policies work together is just as important.

Coverage depends on the facts, policy wording, exclusions and insurer’s determination.

🚗 Knowing how fault is determined before an accident happens can make a big difference.

Ontario has specific Fault Determination Rules that insurers use when assessing automobile claims and some common driving situations can result in you being found 100% at fault.

A good reminder to stay alert, give yourself enough space, and never assume you have the right of way when making a left turn.

Know the rules. Know your coverage. Protect yourself on the road.

Today was a special one as we celebrated Joe (President at Brokerlink) and his incredible journey with BrokerLink at Joe on the Road.

Hearing him reflect on the past eight years—the achievements, the growth, and the people who helped make it all possible. It was a great reminder of what strong leadership can accomplish. And how you want to be remembered.

I’m proud to work for an organization with leaders who genuinely care about their people and have worked hard to build a culture where employees feel supported, valued, and given opportunities to grow.

That’s a wrap on the Franchise Show at the Mississauga Convention Centre!

What a great weekend filled with conversations, new connections, and opportunities to meet so many incredible business owners and entrepreneurs.

One of the biggest insurance myths I hear from business owners is,

“If it’s stolen from my vehicle, my auto insurance covers it.”

Not necessarily.

Your vehicle may be insured, but the tools, equipment, inventory, or merchandise you’re carrying for your business can be a completely different coverage conversation.
