you guys always thank me for my content but tbh most of the time when I make videos it’s because I don’t know what else to do with myself. I know I say this all the time, but it’s truly ME that should be thanking YOU.

I love how we look out for each other. 308K of my beautiful besties 🥹 xxxxx by @withlovesabrinaflores

link to find contact info for the appropriate folks in your state: http://ppact.io/care

this step takes less than 5 minutes! it may not feel like much, but it’s one of the only things that actually pressures lawmakers directly. and most people won’t do it — not because they don’t care, but because they feel powerless or overwhelmed. so if you can take that step, it genuinely matters a lot.

defunding planned parenthood would change the healthcare landscape entirely. when health centers are forced to shut down, those that aren’t become extremely overwhelmed.

PLUS! states that defunded planned parenthood didn’t just see a drop in ^bortion access; they saw higher sti rates, fewer cancer screenings, worse health outcomes across the board.

the narrative people are being fed is that this is about values. but defunding planned parenthood doesn’t eliminate ^bortion — it eliminates access to care. it punishes people who already have the least. and it reinforces the idea that only certain people deserve bodily autonomy, privacy, or preventative medicine.

so yes, this is political. but it’s also logistical, economic, & it’s about who gets to be well and who doesn’t

TLDR;

(since this video was basically just one giant stream of consciousness yap hehe)

1. Sending more voice messages to loved ones instead of texting all the time has REALLY helped me anchor myself in more love & softness (which can be very hard to access since I spend most of my time alone)

2. Narrating what I’m doing / what my senses are feeling when I feel myself dissociating or spiraling

3. Not rushing getting ready — reframing “getting ready” as sacred time to work on building a healthier, more intimate relationship with my appearance

4. Co-regulating with music when I’m having a hard time getting out of a funk (or when I want to amplify/extend something positive I’m already feeling)

5. No more mindless listening to podcasts while I’m walking

6. OR SCROLLING/TEXTING/GOOGLING WHILE I’M WALKING!

7. Having more fun listening to my inner dialogue appreciating the world around me when I’m outside

see!!!! super realistic, accessible things you can do every day to ground yourself more in your body :-) I have approximately 80938492038 more lil tips like that so lmk if a part 2 would be helpful :-) <3 by @withlovesabrinaflores

if there’s anything I’ve learned in the past few months, it’s that the hurt & mood swings are always going to be there.

recovery isn’t about feeling hard things less, it’s about moving through them more. it’s not about erasing the struggle, it’s about magnifying more of the good.

it’s not about shrinking the parts of yourself you hate, it’s about expanding yourself to grow into someone you love :-)

that’s the way I’m choosing to see it, anyway… bc it’s the only philosophy that makes healing feel more exciting than burdensome! & if this is a lifelong journey, id sure as hell prefer to be having fun over suffering :-) by @withlovesabrinaflores

sincerely, a girl who cried her soft healing little heart out yesterday after a very disappointing change in plans :-)

you know what the cool part is though?

as i crieeeeeeed & waileeeeed alone on my apartment floor, all i could think about was: “damn. It feels so good to let this out.”

“wow! this is a lot. i wonder how long all of this stress has been couped up inside my body. i’m so happy it’s found space to release!”

“oh my this “small” change doesn’t feel very small to me. it must be so important to me! important things bring big feelings for everyone. I’m so happy I can let this go”

reframe, reframe, reframe judgement into self-compassion. your softness is a blessing. make space for as much of it as you can <3 by @withlovesabrinaflores

a warm, happy official return to my soft, beautiful social media family!!!!!!! 🥹🌱💻

for those of you who don’t know, i went to residential treatment a few months ago after a pretty big mental health scare. and even though i’ve been back for about two months now, i’ve been trying to figure out how to talk about it. and i STILL don’t totally know how.

there are so many layers to what led me there, what i experienced while i was there, and what it’s been like coming back that I just kept putting it off. because ahhh!!! overwhelmed!!! and I want so badly to get it right!!!!

but one of the biggest patterns I’m trying to overcome is the notion that things don’t have to be perfect or complete before I can just do the damn thing. so for now, i’ll just start here:

just because chaos has become your baseline doesn’t mean you’re okay. and the longer you stay in it, the harder it gets to tell when you’ve actually gone under.
i think for a lot of us — especially those who’ve lived with trauma for a long time — breaking down doesn’t always look like crying on the bathroom floor (note where I say “always” …. bc trust me there is PLENTY of that hahaha). sometimes it looks like continuing to show up to your life on autopilot, totally disconnected, until you can’t anymore.

i’m really proud of the girl who finally said, “i need help.” i don’t think she knew what she was walking into, but she knew she couldn’t keep going the way she was. and while i still don’t have a neat, digestible story to tell about what treatment was like or what changed in me, i do know this: it taught me how to stop performing my healing and actually feel it. it gave me space to look at the parts of myself i’ve spent years trying to fix, and ask, “what are you protecting me from?” and to listen without trying to shut them down.

there’s more i want to say about recovery, expectations, and coming home to a life that somehow feels familiar, unfamiliar, comfortable, and uncomfortable at the same time. but for now, thank you for being here. for being patient. and for always, always meeting me where i’m at :-)

more updates coming soon :-) by @withlovesabrinaflores

collab with @ppact #WeDecide

this is NOT an endorsement of any candidate—just a look at why i believe reproductive rights are crucial & the very real consequences we’ve seen since the overturn of roe v. wade. states across the country are already implementing laws that threaten privacy, delay essential care, & disproportionately impact vulnerable populations. the reality is, the fight for bodily autonomy is ongoing & has major implications for everyone.
i believe in informed conversations, so as always—respectful dialogue & questions are welcomed! I’ll get back to as many as I can when I can :-) by @withlovesabrinaflores

you gotta help them help you!!!!

i’ve been sitting with the guilt of feeling like a burden when asking for help, & i know how hard it is to ask your loved ones to show up for you—especially when you feel like you’re asking for too much. Over time, I’ve realized how crucial it is (to the best of your ability!!!) to reach out for support before things get bad. this doesn’t mean you’re putting the responsibility on them to catch your warning signs or fix everything for you. you’re outlining what you need, when you need it, & making it easier for them to support you.

it’s so difficult to even be aware of your own warning signs, let alone catch them in real time. & if that’s where you’re stuck right now, i see you. reaching out for help might feel like a far-off, overwhelming step, & that’s okay. that part of the journey can take time.

the bulk of this journey isn’t about relying on others to do the work for you—it’s about setting yourself up for success. sometimes, that means leaning on people, but in a way that’s low-effort for them & ensures you stay accountable to doing your own work. i used to avoid asking for help altogether, but now i’m learning to be specific with my asks.

let me know if it’d be helpful for me to make another post about the complexity of feeling guilty when reaching out for help & how to navigate it—because trust me, that took a long time for me to get comfortable with too... & it’s STILL something I am actively working on!!! by @withlovesabrinaflores
