Everyone always told me the first year of motherhood would be the hardest.

But for me, it wasn’t.

The first year felt full of wonder. Hard in all the obvious ways, yes, but also incredibly beautiful.

This second year has stretched me in ways I never expected.

There has been a lot happening behind the scenes, and alongside all the joy of raising my little boy, I’ve wrestled with feelings I never saw coming.

The words in this carousel have been sitting with me for a long time. I’ve written them, rewritten them, cried over them, deleted them, and written them again.

Because I wasn’t sure if anyone else would understand.

But if there’s another mum reading this who’s quietly wondering if she’s not enough… if she’s done something wrong… if she’s become replaceable… or if she’s looking around wondering where she fits now…

I hope you know this.

It isn’t because you’ve become less.

Motherhood changes us. It changes our rhythms, our priorities, our relationships and sometimes even the places we feel we belong.

That can feel incredibly lonely.

But none of that changes your worth.

You don’t have to earn your place. You don’t have to become who you were before. And you don’t have to prove that you’re enough. That's something I'm still reminding myself of.

Right now, the most important thing you can be is exactly who your little one needs.

Because while the world around you might feel like it’s shifting, there is one place where you can never be replaced.

To them, you are home.

And that is enough.

Monday Mum OOTD, but make it cosy neutrals 🤎

Buttery cream knit + espresso layers + black silky pants + my antique brown Blundstones, finished with my Kmart mocha tote and brown coat.

And yes, I absolutely had to throw the outfit onto myself because apparently that’s more fun than a normal OOTD. 😂

One of those little things I hope I’ll never take for granted.

Our little guy’s soccer class is literally at the end of our street, which means we can just walk there together, have a little morning adventure and be home again before we know it.

It’s such a small thing, but having things like this so close to home makes such a difference to our everyday life and it truly makes it feel like less of a mission to have him doing a Saturday morning activity.

Very grateful for our little neighbourhood.

I think somewhere along the way, a lot of us (even those who aren't Mothers) start believing that becoming a mother means leaving parts of ourselves behind.

The woman who loved creating.
The one who had dreams, hobbies, passions, friendships, ambitions.

And yes, motherhood changes you. It changes everything.

But I’ve realised something over the last two years.

Motherhood didn’t erase me.

It stretched me.
It deepened me.
It taught me strength I never knew I had.

There have been moments where I barely recognised my own life. Moments that looked nothing like I imagined when I dreamed about becoming a mum. If you’ve read my post about "No One Could Have Prepared Me for This part of Motherhood", you’ll know exactly what I mean.

But even in the hardest chapters, I haven’t become less.

I’ve become…

Someone who can build a business while raising a little boy.

Someone who can still chase creativity.
Still have dreams.
Still pour into others and lead with purpose.
Still lift my voice and use the gifts I’ve been given.
Still be a wife, a photographer, a creator, a friend… AND a Mum.

Motherhood isn’t the end of who you were.

It’s the beginning of discovering just how much you were always capable of becoming even when others can't see that.

The challenge might be over, but I don't think I'll ever stop documenting these little moments.

This morning was our little guy's first soccer class, breakfast together as a family, coffee, and now home for a nap. So here's a little rapid fire mini vlog of our morning.
Tell me... did I dress the part of soccer mum? 😂

I'm spending this weekend slowing down, catching my breath after July, and figuring out what I want this next month to look like.

For now, I'm just happy to be here.

Today I have felt strangely exhausted...
So putting my toddler to bed for his nap and then making myself a cup of tea and a sweet treat was just the self care I needed.
