Life is too short - enjoy the things you love - do the things that make you smile - learn to love yourself

Am I the only one that needs a daily escape with a book to feel sane?? It’s been a crazy few weeks with work, book events, work, social commitments, more work and just life in general (moans from the house when I hadn’t had time to do a food shop and they had takeaway two nights in a row because I was MIA….obviously I am the only one in the house who knows what’s the supermarket is 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄) and I have neglected my reading….and it’s noticed in my moods 😂😂

While ignoring my book again and scrolling through Facebook I came across a charity event to raise money for @cr_uk and it basically involves reading every day in November!! So now I have an excuse to go back to taking time out and curling up with a book!! I will be reiterating to the household that it’s not me taking time out to be selfish…it’s my way of raising money for a good cause 🥰 while also tackling the ever growing TBR…multitasking is what us women do best!! 😂

If you’re able to spare a few pennies I would love your support, or even better why not join the cause and pick up a book 😉

Now I am off to bed with a book I have neglected for almost two weeks, it’s October so I guess I am in training for next month 🥰😉😂

What a way to finish my time at the 2026 @maidstonelitfest 🥰 two amazing authors and a fabulous dinner with @messynessy62

It’s been a fantastic week volunteering for events, an experience I would definitely do again!

Massive thank you to the fabulous ladies that have organised such a fantastic event spanning over 11 days with workshops and author meets for all different tastes!

Looking forward to spending my time with the team again next year xx

For the third year running I have been at a @maidstonelitfest event in Waterstones after hours, and each time the evening must start with a coffee in Costa 😂

This evening was a little different, this time I was a volunteer and while waiting for our lovely guest to arrive I was scouting the bookshop looking for hiding places and dreaming of spending the night there 😂😂

@erinjelly was amazing this evening, I haven’t read any of her books yet but after tonight I want to read them all (may have already downloaded a book or two on my kindle as soon as I got home!🙈)

What an amazing evening volunteering at my first @maidstonelitfest event 😍

Serving wine while listening to the fabulous @knackeredmother Helen McGinn walk about her latest book 🍷🍾

The venue was amazing! Perfect for the wine tasting!!

Looking forward to the next event on Wednesday evening 🥰

An evening stroll down Freedom Avenue to finish off a lovely weekend 🥰

John was a little disappointed that the shop was closed as apparently he wanted a new outfit….one extremely relieved wife as I wouldn’t put it past him go do something that crazy just to wind me up 😂😂

Finally made it to the zoo 🥰

Johns comment as we get to the zebra enclosure….’look babe, they have the same markings as you!’ 🙄😂 shower number three and you can still see the tell tale signs of yesterday 😂😂

Lion, cheater and tiger (wasn’t quick enough to snap a good photo before we went into hiding) I was in my element 🥰

John was in his element this morning while on the search for breakfast as we came across the starting line for a Motor Rally 🙄 🚗🚙

Then we had a slight mishap 🙈 let’s go to the zoo!! Taxi drops us off at a shopping centre….a little confused at this the hubby assures me it’s just a short walk around the back of the centre! We eventually found what he thought was the zoo when arranging the transport…zoo park not quite what he was expecting 😂😂

Slightly gutted that we were too old to get away with taking the slide to the lower level!!

We done a lot of walking yesterday and discovered some beautiful places on our travels! Finished the day with lots of rest and a take away in the room 😂

We have no idea what today will bring. It’s strange being away and not having anything planned…just seeing where the day takes us! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Consultation completed!! So excited for February

The staff at @nordesthetics_clinic are so friendly and welcoming, it’s a gorgeous relaxed environment and I am so happy I have been able to meet my surgeon today, it’s put my mind at rest and the hubby is rest assured I will be in safe hands too 🥰

Downside - even after scrubbing in the shower I can’t get the marker pen off 😂😂 a slightly different surgery was recommended which has given me food for thought 🥰

Now off to explore Kaunas with the hubby and my go faster stripes 😂😂

Arrived in Lithuania safe and sound…but shattered 😂 getting too old for the early alarm!!

Amazed with the hotel - I booked a budget hotel at €52 a night and it’s lovely!! Basic but comfortable, oh and it’s basket ball themed 😂😂 the light in the basket…perfect 👌🏼

We took a stroll so we could find the clinic, and I now know where the supermarkets are for when I return alone for surgery 😬 couldn’t resist taking a picture of the book decorated hoarding! 📚

Decided to try dinner from one of the takeaways mentioned in the FB group for deliveries - I have a feeling I will be ordering from them a few times in February! 😂

I can’t believe I started this part of the journey in January and it’s almost consultation day! It seemed like ages away when I first booked 😬😍
