There are places you visit, and then there are places that stay with you.

Kudajadri is known for its mist-covered mountains, lush forests, winding trails and its deep connection with Mookambika Devi. It is believed to be the place where Adi Shankaracharya meditated, making it an important spiritual destination for devotees.
But beyond its history and spirituality, there’s something incredibly peaceful about being surrounded by those mountains and clouds. 🤍
Standing there, you realise why some journeys are not really about reaching a destination.
They’re about finding a little stillness within yourself.

I’ve been to Kudajadri seven times now, and somehow it never feels like I’m going back to the same place.

The first time, I thought I was getting to know the mountain. By the seventh, I realised the mountain keeps changing before I get the chance to know it properly.

Some days it’s completely covered in mist. Some days the sky opens up and you can see for miles. The same roads, the same hills, the same trees but every season gives Kudajadri a different mood.

And there’s another reason this place feels strangely familiar to me. Aravindante Athidhikal is one of my favourite films, and knowing that Kudajadri was part of that world makes being here feel a little more personal.

Maybe that’s why I keep coming back.

Not because I haven’t seen it before.
Because I know I haven’t seen it this way before. 🤍

There’s something about Mookambika that feels less like visiting a temple and more like returning to a feeling you’ve known forever. 🤍
And maybe that’s why Aravindante Athidhikal feels so comforting too. Knowing that parts of this beautiful story were filmed here makes the place feel even more special. 🌿✨
