And just like that… we did it 👫🏻

As we walked through the doors at Heathrow airport, I said to Joe, ‘you know what, I feel okay actually I don’t think I’ll cry’. 2 minutes later I saw my mums little face and burst into tears, it really had been a long time since we’d given each other a hug 💖

I’m not sure how to put into words just how this adventure has changed us, and everything it has bought into our lives, all I can say, is I’m eternally grateful that we chose to jump when the world was telling us not to 🥹

Thank you for sticking with us, thank you for watching, thank you for sending us coffees when you knew we had nothing, thank you for making us laugh, thank you for enjoying this adventure as much as we did.

This is not the end for us, but it is time for us to take a break. It’s time for us to hug our families and enjoy Christmas at home. I don’t think we’ve slept for the last 13 months.

Once we’ve recovered, then the next adventure begins 💖

Vietnam was our first stop and we seriously threw ourselves in at the deep end. But can I just say it seriously set us up to cross the road in every country for the entire year, we were FEARLESS

Best bit was and when the motorbikes decided to ride on the pavement to get around the traffic. You pedestrians better JUMP out the way fast 🤣

Joe bought this dry bag back in Vietnam on our first stop after getting jealous of my @ospreypacks flight back that came with my backpack. He dragged me round Ho Chi Minh until he found a shop that sold them down a back alley. We seriously didn’t think it would last this long! It’s been taped back together so many times that we had to start signing wavers to get it on planes.

Big tip: get a proper plane bag before you fly! It means you never have to put you back pack in the over sized luggage and it’s less likely to get caught on the way to the plane 🛫

The main question we’ve had is ‘did you feel safe?!’ and before we got here, all everyone said was be careful!

Now I’m not saying it’s the safest city ever, and I think the warnings did mean we were more aware of being careful

But no one tried to grab us on the beach, no one followed us, and no one tried to take our things.

The main things to be aware of, is that you shouldn’t to wandering off into favelas alone, in certain areas of you feel bad vibes put your things away, don’t leave your stuff laying on the beach and don’t go hiking alone

Follow by the rules and you’ll fall as deeply in love with Brazil as we did! 💖

Seeing the sunrise in Rio is one of my favourite things to do!

And there’s one spot you have to watch it 🤩

Dona Marta, sits just below Christ the Redeemer, with a view of the bay. You’ll need to be on your way up around 4.30 at the latest to catch the beautiful red glow peak over the horizon around 5am.

Doing this before Christ The Redeemer? You’ll be the first ones up there too!
