In 2023, I successfully completed my Master Craftsman certification in Germany.

The Master Craftsman title is one of the highest qualifications and achievements you can reach in the skilled trades industry. It requires 1 to 1.5 years of intensive and demanding education, followed by extensive theoretical examinations and a highly challenging practical master examination.

In my case, the final task was to completely redesign the lobby of a 4 star hotel. All work and design concepts had to be executed on a self built mock up construction in full 1:1 scale. Precision, technical expertise, planning and the highest level of craftsmanship were essential throughout the entire project.

The Master Craftsman certificate does not only represent experience and knowledge, but above all the highest standards of quality, responsibility and professional workmanship.

Quality is never a coincidence.
It is the result of education, experience and absolute precision.

———————————————-

Old but gold 🎥
This video is a bit older. The hair is short again now 😄✂️

Here you can see how we finish drywall joints to quality level Q1, the foundation for any clean final result.

Key points 👇

• The boards must be properly and securely screwed
👉 If you did not install them yourself, make sure to check the fixing beforehand

• The right consistency of the joint compound is crucial
Not too thin because it will run out of the joints
Not too thick because it is hard to work with and dries too fast

• I like to embed the joint tape (mesh tape) during the first coat
👉 This saves time and ensures cleaner follow up work
Traditionally it is often done in the second coat

• Screw holes are filled once
👉 Any protruding screws should simply be tightened properly

At the end of the day
👉 Proper preparation equals perfect results

That is how simple clean drywall finishing can be if it is done the right way
