Backed side panels with rabbit skin glued Baltic Birch. Prepared ground
of rabbit skin glue, fine marble dust
and white pigment. Thee coats fairly
Thick consistency but brushable. Each
Coat dried and sanded . Will let cure a few days then go over with damp/wet
Cloth for that diamond like finish.

The #triptych when closed will have
The tomb Scene. Because how the
Hinges are installed i cannot glue the
Birch sheets upon the cradles until
After. However, I need to seal them and
And give a foundation for the gesso
In advance. Tricky as the sheets are only
1/8" thick. Warping very possible.
Well, worked out fine.
The cloudy glue worrisome as the cloudyness denotes a problem, age,
Strength related. But not always.
In the old days I've used those old-time
French sheets of rabbit skin glue and the lack of clarity was no problem.
That all being said , glue fine.
