For the first time in history, Europe’s only airworthy B-17 touched down at @rafcosfordairshow.

As the sun set over her turrets, it was a poignant reminder of a far less peaceful past.

Sally B is more than a plane; she is a living memorial, representing the stories of thousands of young men who climbed aboard bombers like her and faced the unimaginable.

They were sons, fathers, husbands, brothers, uncles and grandads—ordinary people asked to endure extraordinary circumstances.

Today, Sally B remains the only airworthy B-17 in Europe, ensuring that those stories and sacrifices continue to be seen, heard and remembered.

What an experience and a pleasure to be able to share it with friends and family.

A huge thank you to Fabian and @ultimateaeros for making a childhood dream come true yesterday. Spending the day flying a WW2 plane is something I’ll never forget, and having the chance to enjoy it alongside @cwbphotography @skyward_classics (awesome photos!) and @sqwkco made it even more memorable.

@hurricaneheritage at Sleapkosh this time last year!

It was a pleasure to spend such an amazing weekend with @hurricaneheritage who brought a selection of beautiful aircraft, notably their 2 Hurricanes, including R4118.

The Mk1 flew 49 sorties in WW2, shooting down 5 planes during the Battle of Britain in 1940. Having taken damage thought it’s service it was rebuilt 4 times. After making its way to India for training purposes during the war, it was left abandoned until its discovery in 1982.

Here it can be seen taking to the air again with the worlds only airworthy 2 seater hurricane.
