Artist-in-Residence 2026 | Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt
Thursday, March 12th at 7:30pm | Gantner Concert Hall

Each year, UWEC choral students get the opportunity to work with a deeply established figure in the modern music scene. Over a 3-day collaborative residency, choirs will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with Hilary by singing their repertoire, asking questions, and engaging in higher musicality. This will feature the Concert Choir, Women’s Concert Chorale, The Singing Statesmen, Novum Voce, and Symphonic Choir.

Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt is Professor Emerita of Choral Studies at the University of Toronto where she held the Elmer Iseler Chair in Conducting. A native Canadian, she has performed with her university choirs at conferences of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and at Podium, the national conference of Choral Canada. She has conducted honors choruses throughout Canada and the U.S., including almost 40 all-state high school choirs. She has directed choral festivals at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and throughout Europe.
Tickets will be available for purchase on the UWEC Ticket Office Website, and in person. taken in Haas Fine Arts Center - UW by @woco_uwec

We are now officially done for the school year! We had a lovely banquet with a heartfelt send-off to our director, Dr. Watkins.

The current and new officers also met today to officially transfer all duties, and prepare the new officers for the next school year!

Thank you so much to everyone for supporting us throughout the school year! Have a great summer, and we will see you all in the fall! by @woco_uwec
