The remains of our Bauer home at 18414 Coastline Dr., was destroyed and burned by the Palisades Fire.

These pics are from the first time back home when they only allowed residents in on Jan 27th.

Sunset Mesa, Malibu...home for 49 years. Gone.

This is heavy.

3/31/2025 - I missed a call and then received a text message at 4:24am, on March 31st, 2025, from a nurse that was watching my Mom. Her text read that my Mom, "was no longer with us, has transition and had 'expired'." The phone rang after reading that text. My 94 year old Mom, Miriam Buenconcejo Nunez Braithwaite Gonzalez Bauer, had passed in her sleep.

Instead of writing a novel and long remembrance post... I'm just gonna take some quiet time to myself and continue my grieving process.

Instead, I'll share one of my favorite photos with my Mom (taken by my Pops). I was privileged and lucky to have traveled the world as a kid throughout the 80's and a teenager in the early 90's.

This is my Mom & I circa 1984 in Regiao dos Lagos, Brazil, at Auntie Maria & Uncle Tom's summer home. My Mom was 54, and I was 6 in this photo. We spent about a month each year staying there in course of 3 years. And together had many fun memories and culutral moments experiencing the nature, beauty and diversity of Brazil. taken in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil by @wolf__bauer

My life these past few years has been filled with nothing but legal and personal trauma, agonizing grief, anger, disappointment, stress, continual loss and and constant sadness... and to now save myself, I can't stay there within those walls because most of these moments were things completely out of my control.

Although March 2026 has turned out to be a heavy month for me,...from being forced to sign away/sell my home, the one year anniversary of my Mom's passing, recently turning 48 and realizing that my death will happen, on an ordinary day...with unfinished plans. Reminds me how time is the most important commodity and measurement.

This is what my healing journey looks like... and it's OK, as long as I actually continue to HEAL. Admit my faults, learn from my mistakes, and keep striving to become a better human being.

Duke Kahanamoku Bauer, my soul dog, is 12 years old this year!

This pup has been with me since 2014 when he was 4 months old. Duke was found inside a dumpster in a park located in Fullerton, CA.

Also, a shout out to @puppy.playa for their doggie ponchos!! Duke loves his hoodies, but his ponchos have been his favorites lately. If you want ponchos for your pups or cats, head over to their IG/site!

11/7/2025 - Somber November #2

I'm just a man in raw form, with his faithful and loving dog, navigating through life after extreme forced changes and unimaginable loss.

I'm trying and learning to speak softly and better of myself and striving, evolving to become a better human being.

My life is reshaping into something I'm trying to define with a purpose. I could easily become a villain and continue to be bitter and angry about these circumstances I've been thrown into.

So I've called upon my African, Caribbean, Polynesian, South East Asian, and European ancestors for spiritual help and guidance.

And I'm choosing love, I'm choosing life, and I'm choosing to find a positive meaning in my tiny and insignificant existence.

The one thing about being human, is our adversity and our incredible capacity for and to give love in all positive forms - to ourselves and others. by @wolf__bauer

10/31/2025 (post Halloween post)

Since the loss of his pack (Coco & Bella), Duke has been a different dog. He's pretty lonely these days, has anxiety, and is always on the lookout. It seems like he's aging faster since Coco & Bellas passing, and he's been wanting to say hi to every human and dog he sees. Unfortunately, being a Pitbull, other owners and people still steer clear away from him. All Duke wants is love. He knows nothing else.

Thanks to @archermarky, who got him his Dino costume, Duke spent Halloween, watching people head to the yearly Weho Halloween Festival. He got a few compliments, which made happily wagged his tail. taken in West Hollywood, California by @wolf__bauer
