I am completely locked out of my primary Facebook.... honestly really dislike that platform but so much of my reach is on FB. But I have a really cool thing being announced tmrw I'm excited about that I think will be really cool and I just hope people see it <3

*My view from the show Sunday *
Them Lousiana bands always knew wtf was up.

Crowbar had one of the best shows I have seen them have here in LR. And mind you we had some pretty damn epic Crowbar events at Downtown and at Rev Room , Vino's and more I'm missing. Truly every band on the bill was incredible! @mammothcaravandoom , @morbidvisionzdm and , @crankbait1974 the absolute LEGENDS! Seeing good friends and getting to see how times have changed but they still remain the same.. felt good. It's cathartic to hug my people and check in with those I've known for so damn long. <3

I love what we have here.

Kirk's music has been a huge driving force and Down is one of my favorite bands of all time! Losing All to me is a perfect song by them.

Local Love Showcase at The Rev Room

*Artist Spotlight*
Scars Tell Stories

*Scars Tell Stories, based out of Conway, Arkansas was fully formed into who you see now in July of 2023.

Each of our five members have been in bands or performed music in some form for years before that point. Make no mistake, this band is a connected group of veteran musicians. We've all either been in bands together or shared a stage together in different bands.

Though each one of us have been in bands that had run their course through the test of time we've learned, adapted, and now aim to apply those changes for this band.

Sort of like the Avengers, we were gathered together by our rhythm guitarist Daniel “S.K. ” Irvin and drummer Jordan "J-Rock" Weems. After months of planning, they formed a vision for what could be. Driven, they recruited each one of the following members to form a band purely out of who was the best fit. Not just as musicians but as genuine people too.

We classify ourselves as a Southern Metalcore band. You will hear influences of not just Hard Rock and Metal, but also roots of Blues, Gospel, Classical, as well as Rap & R&B. This is why we do not just say we are a Metalcore band because there is so much more to it.

The members consist of:

Vocals: Jeremy “Jai Grand” Grandison
Lead Guitar: Devin “TK” Parker
Rhythm Guitar: Daniel “SK” Irvin
Bass Guitar: Shane “The Baker” Baker
Drums/Percussion: Jordan “J-Rock” Weems* by @wolf_moon_neg

Crossing Acheron

*Hailing from North Little Rock, Crossing Acheron was formed in 2020. Inspired by all kinds of metal groups, from nu-metal, progressive metal, and even classic rock. After a lineup change, they are looking to get back out there, bigger and badder than ever. With several original songs out and more on the way, combining sweeping melodies with grand choruses, they aim to make music for everyone to enjoy and rock out to.* by @wolf_moon_neg

Almost Guilty

*Almost Guilty is from the Saline County area. They draw musical inspiration from the 90s and 00s grunge, alternative rock, and metal genres. Their love for music brought them together and made them a family. When they are not on stage you can usually find them watching/supporting other bands. They have recently won 3rd place in Battle of the Cover Bands at the Big Chill in Hot Springs Ar, sponsored by Art Beat Entertainment. Almost Guilty is nominated for Best Group Of The Year - Rock/Metal category in the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards at the Grand Ole Opry House. They have been working on creating new original music. They have already released Her Sabotage and Boundaries. They have also released two covers, Dear Maria and Facedown. They were on two separate tours this year. The first tour was with the SW Rising Stars which took them all over the SW and a 3 days tour with The Almas who are now touring in Europe.* by @wolf_moon_neg

Local Love Showcase at The Rev Room

*Vendor Spotlight*
Sweetbirds Candy Kitchen

*I started cooking hard crack candy in late February this year. I became a mother in 2022 and then in Oct last year we welcomed triplets. A conventional job life wasn’t practical so I took everything I loved about each job I’ve ever had, smashed it together, added a huge dash of family and boom. A little side note - may children’s last name is “Hawkes” and therefore they are my Sweetbirds, you see🙂

The physical process includes mixing up sugar, water and corn syrup and cooking it to “hard crack” stage (300 degrees). Flavoring, coloring and embellishment are where the creativity ensues. I see endless combinations waiting to adorn a crisp green grape. We currently have 116 flavors.

I have relatives that were candy makers in the early 1900’s / late 1800’s. I hope to renovate the small candy kitchen they once operated (equipped with old taffy hook!) and open a brick & mortar Sweetbirds.* by @wolf_moon_neg
