our @netflix song “skeletons” for the show Control Z @_todostussecretos_ is finally out today (link in bio)! i thought it would be cool to post a little chronology of how the song came about for anyone who might find that sort of thing interesting. if you swipe to the right, the 2nd slide is my email to netflix with the initial track i made and me singing an idea (this actually is still on the record if you listen closely). then the next slide shows @emma_sameth ’s initial voice memo with melodic/lyric ideas that really helped shape the direction of the topline (she a genius). the fourth slide is one of the voice memos from the crazy talented @spritely coming up with the hook melody before she helped write the rest of the lyrics, melody, and record vocals. then the 5th slide is one of the versions that the prodigious producer @whosemofficial sent back. he really helped clean things up and make the song way more interesting with amazing sound design, arrangement, and drums.

also a special thanks to @fuzamber and netflix for making this all possible and being so supportive as well as @mrsuicidesheep for pushing the song on their channel with such short notice. so many people were involved to make this happen and i’m feeling grateful af to be part of it. now please go put the song on repeat and enjoy :). taken in Los Angeles, California by @wolfenchill

i’m not a pianist but as soon as i heard this song ‘socially awkward’ by @kiefdaddysupreme i instantly got into one of those compulsive can’t-sleep-or-think-until-i-learn-this type episodes and it became the first (rough) piano transcription i’ve ever attempted. pls enjoy and also whoever spots my dog in the vid first wins taken in Los Angeles, California by @wolfenchill

I actually didn’t release any new music in 2019 and instead I spent the year building a business so that I can be free to create music again without making any compromises for financial gain. I think as artists we constantly feel like we should be giving up everything for our art and ‘living the dream’ means making money from our passions. Over these last 5 years I’ve learned this wasn’t true for me and that it’s okay to have different aspirations and sources of income. I love systems and math and becoming an expert in totally non-music related fields, and I especially love not stressing about paying my bills and having the freedom to buy that new piece of gear or whatever.
My point is, envision what you want your actual day to day life to be like rather than a romanticized version of your future. Is it being on the road, touring day after day? Is it being in the studio 14 hours a day? Is it having financial freedom and other interests but sacrificing some of the time you can spend on music? Do you want to be able to support a family now or in the future? Any of these might be the right path for you and aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive, but just make sure you are being honest with yourself before you end up in a situation where you are unhappy and unfulfilled. No one else knows what you need or want.
Anyway, what a crazy year and so thankful for all of you who enjoy my music and so grateful that I’m able to create music that people enjoy. To the new decade! taken in Los Angeles, California by @wolfenchill

I love all of you for the support over the last few years. I’ve amassed more listens and listeners than I ever imagined and I can truly say that many of my dreams have come true.
