Finally, autumn | Ahornboden, Sept. 2026

Der Große Ahornboden im Karwendelgebirge ist ein sehr spezieller Ort, insbesondere im Herbst. Die dort beheimateten, zum Teil mehrere Jahrhunderte alten Bergahornbäume, wandeln in dieser Jahreszeit ihr Blätterkleid in ein leuchtendes Goldgelb, bevor sie dann in wenigen Wochen wie knorrige Fabelwesen in der Landschaft dem kommenden Winter entgegen sehen.

The Großer Ahornboden in the Karwendel Mountains is a truly special place, especially in autumn. During this season, the native sycamore maples - some of which are centuries old - transform their foliage into a brilliant golden yellow before, within a few weeks, standing like gnarled mythical creatures in the landscape, facing the approaching winter.

The town of Bonifacio, perched on the cliffs of southern Corsica, is my favorite town on the island. Both the town's unique atmosphere and the view of it from the outside are truly special. I had long wanted to photograph its silhouette early in the morning, when the sun highlights it to perfection.

Trio of Tuscan Trees | April 2026

Trees and gentle hills characterize the Val d'Orcia in central Tuscany. Depending on the lighting conditions—at times bathed in the soft light of dawn or dusk, at others in the harsh midday glare, as is the case with the vibrant olive tree—their distinctive character comes into its own. These images were captured during a photography workshop led by the Heidelberg-based photographer Alexander Ehhalt @alexanderehhalt.
