Round 2 Wrap Up

After a positive start to the season last week, we found ourselves going backwards and unfortunately ending the night in a way that we did not expect to end the night, We suffered our first DNF in a little over a year after we thought it was a good idea to try and push the back straight wall out a little bit but the wall won this round (like the other 20 attempts).

Next up is the Late Model Challenge night and I’m sure it’s gonna be a cracker provided we get the car up and going.

Opening round of the season is in the books and what a fun night it was.

Like past seasons, we opened with a few issues after a head on incident with another car, followed by some steering issues after that. As the night went on, we managed to sort the issues (thanks Chris and Trent for the help) and started to find some good speed.

Feature time, rolling out of P3 and managed to sneak past the leaders and lead laps 5 through 13 before turning into a corner to late and letting lose and spinning, dropping back to 3rd. By the end of the feature we had found ourselves back into 2nd where we would finish for the night.

Reset and we go again next Saturday night.

We have now started a new project that we should be able to unveil soon. Just waiting on a few things to arrive but hopefully we will have it ready to go by the start of the season in about 4 weeks.

The 2026/27 West Oz Quarterscale speedway season is just around the corner and we can now finally reveal our calendar.

There are a few meetings we will be missing out on due to other commitments with life and others that will be decided later as to whether or not we race.

We are also looking at contesting our first ever Australian Quarterscale Speedway Title as we host the event right here in Western Australia across the Easter long weekend.

We have some things in the works atm and hope to release this asap, so stay tuned while we wait for confirmation.

Another season draws to a close and this was our best season yet. We managed to run every meeting (other than the state title and King of Wings) and finished every race (both heats and features) which helped bag some valuable points for the end of season.

We placed 3rd for class championship, just behind Clive and Craig. A massive improvement this year for us after the struggles over the last 2 years and we already have some things in the works for the 2026/27 season which will be revealed soon.

Stats:
3 Podiums (2x championship point rounds, 1x club day)
1 heat race win (club day)
Best finish - 2nd
Best time - 7.752 second lap (Best Pairs event)

Thank you to everyone at West Oz 1/4 Scale Speedway Association Inc. for a great season and can’t wait to do it all again in 2026/27.

AMCA & Dirt Mod High Roller recap:

This was the final night to bag any points we could on the season and ultimately wanting to finish the season on a high (unfortunately it didn’t)

Quick results:
Late Model -
Heat 1: P3 - P4
Heat 2: P3 - P4
Heat 3: P4 - P5
A Main: P4 - P5

Sprintcar -
Heat 1: P4 - DNF (had no control on the car)
Heat 2: P8 - P7
Heat 3: P8 - P7
A Main: P7 - DNF (I believe it maybe a burnt out clutch - engine revving but no drive)

ITS RACE DAY!!!

Today is the final chance to bag points and to try lock in a top 4 finish in track championship for the late model. We will also be jumping back into the #20 Storm Race Cars Sprintcar for this meeting (fingers crossed that this time we keep her straight).

DIRT MOD TOP GUN REVIEW:

The night started with some early speed in the late model but tricky conditions in the sprint car, nonetheless it was still a racey surface and the track crew done well.

After coming from rear of field last weekend in the sprintcar, we thought we would change it up and start where we are gridded up and they would be up in P1, unfamiliar territory but a challenge we were ready to take on.

As the night went on, we felt like we were getting quicker and quicker and the times started to show it with our best lap in the sprintcar and late model almost identical to each other come feature time.

Both cars finished the feature races with little damage. Sprintcar had popped a front right shock off, while the late model suffered some panel damage after an incident after the chequered flag in heat 2.

Time to rebuild and go again in 2 weeks time.
