This was my 7th visit to Uzbekistan in 2 and a half years! That says a lot about how much I appreciate this country, the people, and the culture.

I believe Central Asia is a key region, with incredible talent and that will be central to how the world shapes the future of technology. And so many of the people driving that future here are women.

This time, one of the main reasons for my trip was the Women in Tech Leadership Forum and the Women in Tech CCA Awards in Tashkent. It was a joy to bring together women leaders, founders, students and allies from across the region, to hear their stories and to celebrate the remarkable work they are doing in their countries and communities.

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists. You are role models for the next generation of women and girls in tech, and you remind us why this movement matters.

O primeiro dia do Women in Tech Lusofonia Summit 2026 começou exatamente como queríamos: com ideias em movimento, jovens a criar e problemas reais à procura de novas soluções.

Hoje, o Campus da Uni-CV transformou-se num verdadeiro Laboratório Lusófono de Inovação Pública Digital. Entre inspiração, trabalho em equipa e muita criatividade, estudantes foram desafiados a mergulhar no universo GovTech, pensar soluções e apresentar as suas propostas perante um júri.

Conhecemos ainda o caso de estudo do Governo Digital de Timor-Leste, partilhado por Manuel Schiappa Pietra, da FreeBalance, numa manhã que mostrou, na prática, o que acontece quando damos espaço ao talento e o desafiamos a fazer acontecer.

Houve ideias, debate, colaboração, apresentações, uma equipa vencedora e, acima de tudo, muita vontade de construir.

Assim foi o nosso primeiro dia. E estas são algumas das imagens que ficam. Amanhã, a corrente continua.

From July 14th to September 18th, Women in Tech Global is launching its flagship Entrepreneurship Camp! 🌟

Global Bank reconoce iniciativas lideradas por mujeres que generan impacto sostenible en Panamá

Women in Tech Panamá participó como organización finalista en la segunda edición del Premio “Mujeres Únicas: Construyendo un Futuro Sostenible”, organizado por Global Bank, en una gala que reunió a líderes del sector empresarial, social y tecnológico del país.

El premio reconoce iniciativas lideradas por mujeres que, desde distintos ámbitos, están generando un impacto positivo en sus comunidades. En esta edición se anunciaron las ganadoras de las categorías Semilla, Huella y Legado, reafirmando el compromiso de Global Bank con el liderazgo femenino en Panamá.

Wanda Pinzón, fundadora y directora de Women in Tech Panamá, fue reconocida como finalista en la categoría Semilla, distinción que refleja el trabajo sostenido de la organización en cerrar la brecha de género en tecnología y promover la inclusión digital en el país.

The first local edition of the 🏆 Women in Tech Macedonia Awards 🏆 officially took place marking a historic moment for our community and the broader tech ecosystem. 🎉

En Women in Tech Panamá, una de las cosas más importantes que podemos hacer por un joven talento en tecnología es acompañarla mientras crece, no solo darle información, sino caminar con ella.

Y este sábado lo vivimos de una manera muy especial.

SPARK 60 fue un evento diseñado exactamente para eso. Bajo la guía de nuestra Directora de Mentorías, Martha Aldana Ortiz , las participantes tuvieron un espacio para diseñar su futuro: escucharon experiencias reales, se hicieron preguntas difíciles, y empezaron a construir sus planes de trabajo para alcanzar sus metas.

El panel fue espectacular con Viviana Cifuentes Rincon , Lorena Romero Ruíz, Maria Peraza Anzola y Amanda Chu que compartieron con honestidad cómo fue su camino, los desvíos, los aprendizajes y los momentos que las retaron a seguir.

Pero lo más hermoso del día no estaba en el programa. Fue ver a tantas mujeres en tech dispuestas a entregar su tiempo, su historia y su energía para decirle a otra: yo también pasé por ahí, y sí se puede.

Eventos como SPARK 60 no solo informan — cambian vidas.
