ACBS Women’s SIG 💜 | What do we do?

The Women’s SIG is a space within ACBS created to promote greater diversity, inclusion, and representation of women in Behavioral Science.

We believe that women’s perspectives matter — not only because they deserve to be heard, but because they enrich our science, our professional community, and the way we understand and serve others.

🌱 What do we do?

🪻Create spaces for women and allies to connect, listen, share and learn from one another.

🪻Bring visibility to women’s experiences, perspectives and contributions within Behavioral Science and ACBS.

🪻Raise awareness about gender disparities and the social and professional contexts that affect women.

🪻Support and empower women — particularly women of color, women living in oppressive contexts, and young women clinicians and behavioral scientists.

🪻Encourage mentorship, collaboration and the development of professional networks.

🪻Promote conversations that can lead to meaningful changes in policies, practices and culture within our community.

🪻Advocate for a more diverse, inclusive and equitable ACBS.

🪻Create opportunities for women to develop their voices, share their expertise and take an active role in shaping the future of our organization.

🪻Raise funds to support initiatives that promote the participation and development of women within ACBS, including scholarships that help women access conferences, training and other professional development opportunities.⁠

✨ We want the Women’s SIG to be more than a space for conversation. We want it to be a space for connection, growth, advocacy and action.

We would like to sincerely thank you for your participation in the fundraising event for scholarships for the World Conference 2026.

Thanks to the commitment and generosity of everyone involved, we are able to offer 10 partial scholarships and 2 full scholarships towards the attendance of ACBS World Conference. The scholarship winners have now been notified.

We appreciate that this accomplishment is because of our collective investment in learning and growth of our community.

We are truly grateful for everyone who contributed and look forward to building new opportunities together.

Queremos agradecer profundamente su participación en el evento de recaudación de fondos para becas destinadas a la World Conference 2026.

Gracias al compromiso y la generosidad de quienes formaron parte, hemos logrado un resultado muy significativo: la obtención de 10 becas parciales y 2 becas totales.

Este logro no solo representa un apoyo económico, sino también una apuesta colectiva por la formación, el intercambio y el crecimiento de nuestra comunidad.

Gracias a la generosidad de las personas que participaron en los eventos de recaudación de fondos durante marzo, logramos reunir una buena cantidad de dinero que destinaremos a becas para el Congreso Mundial en Lyon el próximo julio.

Si querés donar y acceder a las grabaciones hasta el próximo junio, podés enviarnos un mensaje por email o a través de Instagram @womensigacbs.

¡La convocatoria a becas ya está ABIERTA! Completá el formulario en el enlace en nuestro perfil.

La fecha límite es el 28 de abril, y las decisiones se tomarán durante la primera semana de mayo.

“Too Much, Too Sensitive”: Rejection Sensitivity and the Path to Belonging

In this 1.5-hour presentation by Jennifer Kemp, a clinical psychologist and late-diagnosed Autistic ADHDer, you will explore a contextual behavioural model of rejection sensitivity and how women can be vulnerable to its impact.

You will leave with a deeper understanding of the origins of rejection sensitivity, the processes that drive and maintain it, and practical insights into how to build the kind of safe, connected relationships where women can heal, thrive, and truly belong.
