I may have gone a little overboard with this one… 😅

A whole new batch of one-of-a-kind jackets made from vintage quilts, crochet blankets, and other reclaimed fabrics. Each one has its own personality, and honestly, picking a favourite is impossible.

Made by hand, not manufactured. And because they’re made from vintage materials, once they’re gone, they’re GONE. No duplicates!

The next upcycled drop is happening Thursday, November 5 at 7 PM EST … along with some adorable little mini duffle bags!

Okay, important question … which jacket are you claiming as your favourite?! 👀 by @wonderforest

One of kind upcycled jackets are coming… plus a few mini duffle bags. Made from vintage quilts and special reclaimed materials. So every single piece is different… and once one is gone, that’s it! Dropping Thursday at 7pm EST. by @wonderforest

Okay, it’s finally time to put this axolotl costume together!

If you’ve been following along, I’ve been making my daughter’s Halloween costume completely from scratch, with no pattern and really no idea if this was actually going to work.

Well, it’s finally finished, and I can’t wait to show you how it turned out!

The axolotl is slowly coming to life! 🩷🪡

Part 2 of DIYing my daughter’s Halloween costume! This time I’m tackling the tail and sewing on all those little frilly axolotl gills (which I’m pretty sure are the cutest part!).

Still making this up as I go, but it’s actually starting to look like something! 😂

Next up: putting it all together for the big reveal! 👀

This Halloween costume has been a YEAR in the making… and I haven’t even started sewing yet. 😂🩷

Last Halloween, my daughter was absolutely set on being an axolotl. I bought all the supplies, had a plan, and was ready to go.

Then KPop Demon Hunters happened. Suddenly, she was going as Rumi. Obviously… along with half of the population of young girls.

Fast forward an entire year, and we’re FINALLY making that axolotl costume!

I’m winging a good portion of this, using a sewing pattern from @peekaboopatternshop as a starting point, and hoping the vision in my head translates into something wearable. 😂

Part 1: Turning a pile of pink fabric into the beginnings of an axolotl.

Next up: figuring out those ridiculous little head gills and tail! 🩷

When I say handmade, I mean the WHOLE sweatshirt! Every one starts as a piece of premium bamboo cotton fleece in my studio. I cut each piece by hand and sew it together myself to get that signature oversized YAY fit I live… roomy, cozy, ridiculously soft, and made for growing kids.

It takes a whole lot longer this way than simply pressing on a graphic, but there’s something special about knowing your kid’s sweatshirt was actually made by hand, from start to finish.

Did you know I do this?! Comment BOO to be notified when these drop on Friday! by @wonderforest

Maybe the problem isn’t that you haven’t found your niche yet.

Maybe you’re just a person (like me!) with a lot of interests, skills, ideas and things you want to try… and forcing yourself to pick ONE of them is what’s keeping you stuck.

You’re allowed to evolve. You’re allowed to change direction. You’re allowed to be known for more than one thing.

Maybe your niche isn’t one topic.

Maybe it’s you. 🤷‍♀️ by @wonderforest

Wasn’t going to share this, but screw it… we’re being more open around here. I’m working on my 4th book and this surfaced again.

There’s inspiration… and then there’s “wait a minute, why does this look VERY familiar?” 😂

This happened years ago and I’ve never really talked about it publicly, but getting sent a PR copy of a book that followed the same concept and format as mine was definitely a weird career moment.

I ended up declining to share it with my audience, because supporting another creative is one thing. Being asked to promote something that felt a little too close to my own work is another.

Creative people … where do YOU draw the line between inspiration and copying? 👀 by @wonderforest

Apparently my career has just been one long series of pivoting.

Almost 20 years of making money online and I’m realizing the skill was never finding the ONE thing that would work forever. It was learning how to adapt when it stopped working.

Right now it feels like a LOT of us are in another one of those moments. So… if you’re rethinking your business, career, how you make money… hi! I’m right there with you.

What are you trying to figure out right now? by @wonderforest

Still kinda wild to me that there was a time when drake was just… a dude standing in a lingerie store while I had no clue who he was 😂

But I think that’s why I love this story. We are so quick to assume the version of ourselves we are right now is somehow the final version. Meanwhile… so much could change.

Nobody knows what’s coming yet… including you!!

(I’m just a serial creator trying to start a new chapter. I don’t know what that is, but hopefully we can figure it out together. Join me if you feel like you’re being pushed to start something new again.)

And I gotta know… did you watch degrassi? by @wonderforest

Apparently we’re reinventing ourselves again 😂

I’ve spent so much of my life online feeling like I needed to have a reason to show up. Teach something. Be the expert. Have the finished product. At least look like I know what I’m doing.

Meanwhile my brain has 43 tabs open, the economy is forcing a bit of a pivot, and I genuinely have no idea what my next chapter looks like yet.

So I’m trying something different: showing up while I’m still figuring it out.

No niche. No master plan. Probably a lot of random thoughts, business stuff, motherhood, rabbit holes and whatever tab my brain happens to be on that day.

Let’s see what happens. 😅 by @wonderforest
