Sure, Louisville has bourbon, but also not messing around with very quality eats. A mix of some killer dishes from a recent trip to the whiskey capital of America.

Yes, that was some of the best Cuban food I’ve had in a long time.

@penelopebourbon does it again with their newest gem, Cigar Sessions Chapter 1. Straight bourbon with American single malt with American light, this is a wildly interesting pour.

6 year and 101 proof. Yes please.

Chicken deserved a grid post. Been a fan of @luckyshotchicken since the start. I always worry when a menu expands and a bunch of new stuff is added, the quality goes down. Not with these guys.

If you’re on the East side, stop by @killerjoetx for your coffee fix. Great cold brew and the wife really liked her latte which had cayenne in it. Begging the question, why are there not more drinks featuring cayenne?  Yes, they have food and if you can’t tell based on that pic, it was delish. Bagels are from Shugs but the rest of the sandwich was constructed on site. It’s nice to see more and more local #coffee spots pop up over here.

Pro-tip. Next door is Pupusas To Go, which might be one of the best deals in Dallas. Great pupusas, $1.75 breakfast tacos (I eat like 4) and legit spicy but tasty salsas. taken in Killer Joe Neighborhood Cafe by @wondergood

Had the privilege of dining at the newest Dallas gem, @pillardallas and it didn’t disappoint. From the delicious mind of chef @peja011 (of @mothaibadallas fame), Pillar is an American bistro that warms the soul and fills the belly.

For real, it takes bistro-style comfort food to heart and doesn’t let up on the portions (go with a group and share them all). Fresh twists on things like beef tartare, fried chicken, and a duck pot pie you can’t miss. Heavy food that leaves you happy.

And yes, amazing cocktails I’m 100% going to figure out how to do at home. Which I will fail at and have to come back for more.   Lastly, don’t sleep on chef @chefdzamora desserts, they are the perfect way to finish the meal.

Is this the best pizza in Dallas (Garland)? Yes. Yes it is. New Haven style pies at @fortunate_son_gtx are truly delicious. From the team at @goodfriendbg, who never miss, this place is a must. And yes, worth the drive to the pretty cool downtown Garland.

1 - Pepperoni
2 - Fourmaggio (add sausage)
3 - The Don - sausage patty sandwich that legit changed my life a little.

@jcholdway easily delivered a contender for fav meal of the year. Our trip to Tennessee would have incomplete without a stop to see chef @josephlenn do his thing. Also not mad at the #bourbon list.
