This trip to Bali I noticed the silhouette of the mountains each sunrise morning.

Mount Batur hike came to me as a surprise and I shared this experience with a hiking group and guides like none other in my life.

Although I've seen mountains much larger on my adventures I don't recall having felt one this alive.

The mountain cooked food for us while we watched the sunrise that's how alive it is. Living and breathing steaming and boiling deep inside.

Love and gratitude for those who made this happen and for the reminder of how great mountain adventures are.

I arrived in Rio Hato not knowing what to expect…
.
Flying into Scarlett Martínez International Airport (RIH) is super easy and from there, Playa Blanca sunrises, volcanic sand, and two completely different hotel vibes made just the beginning of my Panama adventures. I was at @riuhotels Playa Blanca for the all-inclusive energy and @thebuenaventurahotel for a totally different level of calm + luxury.
I also didn’t expect to learn how many retirees live here. Panama has a large “pensionado” community — super welcoming to Canadians — and it added a vibe you don’t usually see in a beach town.

Golf was a highlight too. Royal Decameron Course and the Buenaventura Golf Course.

True story, I first heard about Watkins Glen at a travel trade show in Toronto.
I asked the New York tourism guy, "Hey, what's cool in the Finger Lakes?" He seemed pretty hesitant, but then he went on. For some reason, Watkins Glen really stood out to me. As I was on a road trip, I put this on the map, and it was well worth it.
Watkins Glen State Park is carved through layers of stone, with waterfalls, bridges, and tunnels that make every step worth it. The Gorge Trail here has got to be one of the most scenic hikes in the Finger Lakes and walking it feels like stepping through history or some type of fantasy movie.
If you’re planning a road trip through upstate New York or the Finger Lakes, add this one to your list It won't disappoint.
I love sharing places like this because they remind me why travel matters new conversations, occasional detours, the stories that stay with you long after the drive.

This is me hiking Prairie Mountain in Bragg Creek Alberta! This is one of the closest mountain hikes to Calgary! It’s less than 1 hour from downtown, with no traffic or 35 minutes if you’re in the south of Calgary.

The trail is well maintained as you can see in the video! Still a moderate climb as there is nothing technical on the route with lots of safe areas to rest. I found that the natural staircases were added during a 2023 upgrade which added smoother switchbacks as well. Its manageable while still giving you a solid workout. Especially when you try running.

The Summit has an amazing 360° view: of the nearby mountain ranges and a great of the prairies stretching out to the east (hence the mountain name). On a clear day you can get a great view of downtown Calgary!

Distance: 8.4 km out-and-back
Elevation Gain: 675 m ish
Nearby fun to add - Elbow Falls
Parking lot with washrooms directly across from the trailhead
Kananaskis Conservation Pass required for parking - some bullshit but I paid for numerous days this year 😅

If you’re searching for a hike near Calgary, Alberta that combines accessibility with challenge and incredible views, (or quick summit before dinner) the Prairie Mountain trail is one of the best options in Kananaskis Country.

Located beside the London Ontario Airport and previously known as “The Airport” to the locals, Crumlin Creek has been around since 1979. Adopted the 12 hole layout in 2014, Crumlin also offers classic 9 hole pricing.

Crumlin Creek Golf course also has a driving range and a restaurant with a great patio. If you are looking for a quality day out and a course for all skill levels this is a great choice. The course does not have much elevation change so it makes it easier from some golfers.

I found this option as I was randomly scouting the map along the Bruce trail so I wanted to share!

Beamer Memorial Conservation Area is nestled on the section of the Bruce Trail high above Grimsby on the Niagara Escarpment. Parking is easily accessible but minimal so get there early if you’re visiting on the weekend. Whether you’re here for the views, the hike, or just to unwind, this spot delivers history and discovery.

The Lookout Trail loops through old-growth maple and oak forest to multiple platforms overlooking Grimsby, Lake Ontario, and the Forty Mile Creek Valley as you can see its a perfect mix of forest hiking and panoramic escarpment views. At about 4–5 km, it’s manageable for most. Although I extended my route this area does have a stop at the small waterfall if you choose!

From March through May, this spot becomes Ontario’s top hawk and raptor watch station!

Just minutes away is the Short Hills Bench wine region a unique wine terroir defined by gentle rolling slopes, clay-rich shale soils, and warm days with cool nights. Perfect for a tasting stop at @ridgeroadwinery, @peninsularidge, or any of the wineries in the Niagara Benchlands.

Beamer Memorial Conservation is the perfect Grimsby stopover or take the drive like me for a half-day adventure!

If this was your dream vacation in Banff, what would it look like?

Most people truly don't know. It's just on the bucket list.

In this video, 2 of the best viewpoints you can easily get to, both of these were free.

📍 Banff View Point - An easy drive up the road!

📍 Top of Sulphur Mountain Trail - A hike with the best panoramic views

The other top gems in town are Surprise Corner Viewpoint, Bow Falls, View of the Valley From Banff Springs Hotel or a simple river walk in Central Park.

Other Banff must-sees like Lake Louise, Moraine lake and Johnston Canyon often miss the “extras” like a tea house hike or a lunch in a meadow by the inkpots.

For the longest multi-use paved trail in Banff for biking check out The Legacy Trail - there are lots of rentals available in Banff too!

Someone recently asked what I would choose as a “Banff” spot to eat and what came to mind was @bearstreettavern. There are lots but I always had a great experiences there!

A midway favourite is mini donuts! The classics with powdered sugar are hard to beat, but these were something to try while at the Calgary Stampede. The favourite we found was @ogopogoconcessions blueberry cheesecake and @thelittledonutbakery with a second place. As always, there is fun for all to be had at the @calgarystampede and I am grateful to have the opportunity to stop in this year!

One of my favourite places in the world is here in Port Dover. Its a part of what home is to me. Some locals don't love Friday the 13th but this day and the culture that comes with it is pretty unique, so I wanted to share.

If you ever dreamed of owning a motorcycle and asked what motorcycle should I buy? This could be the best event possible to answer that question.

There is a lot to see here and always something happening throughout the day so if you are curious and you need information on how to get here and what is happening I recommend checking PD13.com for any details for this event. You know I am always happy to chat also!

There are always many unique bikes to see, live music all day and night, street food, local charm, retail vendors with custom goods and people from all over the world connecting over one shared passion.

My first trip to Disney was almost 20 years ago and I’ve met people that would like to come every year and even those who wouldn't mind coming every day. There is a ton going on here, especially around the holidays!
