We started this project over 12 years ago, with no plan for how it would go. The idea was mostly for it to amplify and inspire our solo work, but the time finally felt right to play a set together. Honestly, I’m shocked I pulled it off given the year I’ve had, and the expectations we’ve stacked on ourselves over the years. In the end it gave me exactly what I needed. For the first time, I wasn’t on stage alone, I was up there with my best friend.

It’s hard to put into words how exciting it was to finally bring the Wonky Llama project to a live setting. At first, we both had an inflated idea of each other’s expectations which made the blank slate anxiety pretty steep. Eventually we locked into a routine and took a trip down memory lane going through past WIPs. It was pretty surreal to open projects that were nearly a decade old and work together to make them fresh with all that we’ve learned since then.
