Congratulations to Esther Businge ’27 on being named a 2026–2027 Newman Civic Fellow! 👏

As an Urban Studies major and Pre-Law minor, Esther has found many ways during her time at Worcester State to put her commitment to service into action. She serves as secretary of the Black Student Union, helping organize events and encourage student involvement, and is also involved with the Urban Studies Club and community-based projects through her Urban Studies coursework.

Beyond campus, Esther has supported immigrant and refugee communities through an internship with African Community Education (ACE) and currently works as a legal coordinator at Ascentria Care Alliance, where she supports unaccompanied refugee minors and connects them with resources.

The yearlong Newman Civic Fellowship from @campus_compact recognizes students who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to creating positive change. Through the fellowship, Esther hopes to strengthen her ability to advocate for immigrant and refugee communities and build partnerships that create meaningful impact.

We’re proud to see Esther recognized and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes! 💙
