POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
🎃 Just because something has become NORMAL doesn’t mean we should stop QUESTIONING it.

When did fear, darkness, and death become things we celebrate, decorate with, and invite our children to enjoy?

As believers, we have to be willing to ask uncomfortable questions. Not everything culture embraces is something Christians should automatically embrace.

Our faith isn’t just for Sunday mornings. It should influence how we live, what we entertain, and the convictions we stand by.

But here’s something else we need to remember: Not every personal conviction is a biblical command for everyone else.

In Romans 14, Paul challenges believers to walk according to their convictions without condemning others over matters where Scripture allows freedom.

So how do we navigate that when it comes to Halloween?

🎙️ WORD ON THE WAY PODCAST | ROMANS 14

📖 Romans 14:5 — “Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.”

💬 LET’S TALK: Do you believe Christians should avoid Halloween altogether, or is this an issue of personal conviction? What Scripture shapes your view?

👇 Share your thoughts! Let’s have a biblical conversation, even if we disagree.

WHEN PERSONAL CONVICTIONS BECOME CHURCH RULES… 👀

I almost walked out of church that day.

I had just sat through an entire Sunday school lesson about why girls shouldn’t wear shorts to church and should wear skirts instead.

And there I was… wearing shorts.

I felt judged. I felt condemned. I felt like I was somehow less holy because of what I had on.

But as I was deciding whether to walk out or walk upstairs to service, I just felt like God cared more about ME much more than what I was wearing. ❤️

And that’s something we need to understand as Christians.

Your personal conviction is not automatically God’s commandment for everyone else.

Romans 14 teaches us that we need to be careful not to judge others over matters of personal conviction. If something violates your conscience, don’t do it! But that doesn’t mean you get to turn your conviction into a rule for the entire church.

There’s a difference between biblical truth and personal conviction.

We should never compromise what God’s Word clearly teaches. But we also shouldn’t add rules God never gave and then make people feel like sinners for breaking them.

Don’t make it harder for people to come to Jesus by putting burdens on them that He never required them to carry.

📖 Romans 14:4 — “Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth.”

💬 Have you ever experienced a personal conviction being preached as though it were a biblical commandment?

🔥 You can win the argument and still lose what matters.

Some Christians are so busy fighting over opinions that they’re forgetting what the Kingdom of God is actually about.

Romans 14:17 reminds us that the Kingdom of God isn’t about eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Not every disagreement needs to become a battle. And not every personal conviction needs to become everyone else’s rule.

💥 Are you fighting for what’s right, or just fighting to be right?

What if one question could change the way you handle your entire day?

Before you respond. Before you get offended. Before you make the decision. Before you react…

How would Jesus handle this?

Following Jesus isn’t just about what we believe—it’s about learning to respond the way He would.

Take that question with you today. You might be surprised how much it changes. 🙏

Stop saying, “I’m just a sinner.”

If you’ve been saved by Jesus, sin may still tempt you—but it doesn’t get to define you, own you, or rule you.

Jesus didn’t only die to forgive you for what you’ve done. He died to break the power of sin over your life. 🔥

“For sin shall not have dominion over you…” — Romans 6:14

That means we don’t have to spend our Christian lives expecting constant defeat.

We can live victorious NOW.

Not because we’re perfect.
Not because we never struggle.
But because the same Jesus who saved us has given us the power to walk in freedom.

The Gospel isn’t just “I’m forgiven.”
It’s “I’ve been made new.”

Stop identifying yourself by what Jesus died to deliver you from.

You are not fighting for victory.
In Christ, you are learning to live from the victory He already won. 🙌🔥

Be careful when you think you stand, lest you fall.
Don’t think more highly of yourself than you ought.
Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
I will boast in the Lord my God.
Whatever I am now, it’s all because God poured out His special favor on me.

We were bought with a high price. Let’s live like it ❤️

My yes to God makes my next yes easier. In the same way, my no to God, makes my next no easier. We can’t live our lives ignoring the promptings of God in our lives and assume:

1. The opportunity will always be there
2. My heart will remain soft even though I’m hardening it towards God

The problem with resisting God now is that we don’t realize it automatically hardens our hearts from being sensitive to Him. Go back to the last thing He asked you to do and do it today!

And don’t forget to follow for more Bible truth.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me.” Yes, Jesus is the only way to the Father, but He is also the way out of sin, out of perpetual heartache, out of failure, out of depression, out of sickness, out of poverty, out of insecurity, out of feeling worthless, and into a rewarding relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Today can be the last day you do this alone. Invite Jesus in. It’s the best ride you’ll ever be on and you’ll never look back.

Pray this prayer: Father, I admit that I’m a sinner and I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me, I believe that he was raised from the dead and that he is alive right now. I believe Jesus died to forgive me of my sins and he was raised from the dead to give me power over sin. I confessed with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord, and I choose to follow him the rest of my life.

Send this to someone who needs a way out ❤️

If you prayed that prayer, contact us at www.wordontheway.com/justgotsaved. We would love to connect you with a local church to help you walk this walk!

When Adam walked with God alone in the garden, God said that it’s not good for man to be alone. There are seasons that we shut ourselves in with God and have to get alone with Him. There are times every day that I just want to do what Jesus told His disciples to do: “Come away with me and rest.” But, our regular practice cannot be isolation, even if it is isolation with God. Your key to growth is fellowship with strong, Bible-believing Christians!
