Is the prose any good? Nope. Are there major plot holes and underdeveloped characters? Absolutely. But that's what revisions are for, right? taken in Joie de livres by @wordsbyching

What would you have done with these prompts in under 200 words? I submitted a story involving 🧙🪄🐸🎁🎂. Here's hoping my entry gets a good chuckle out of the judges. #kidlitchucklechallenge by @wordsbyching

Are any of these books on your radar? THIS STORY MIGHT SAVE YOUR LIFE was my favorite and an absolute perfect roadtrip listen. I'm still recovering from the grueling drive but so happy to be settling in our new home! 🇨🇦 by @wordsbyching

There's a lot happening in this photo. An everything lox pragel (pretzel bagel) from @backhausbread in Burlingame. An iced hisbiscus tea even though I don't like the taste of hibiscus, but it showed up in a PB story I'm working on so of course, research. Finally, my current middle grade read, THE COLOR OF SOUND by @emilybarthisler which is really captivating so far (synesthesia/time travel/preteen angst/violin prodigy/intergenerational relationships). Using my printed itinerary for next week's roadtrip as a bookmark.

Expanding my knowledge of Canadian authors since I'm moving there in ONE WEEK! This rec from @ramyamkn couldn't have come at a better time. @monicarnaldo writes beautifully and hilariously, which is hard to do at the same time. Her wonderfully expressive illustrations speak for themselves. I highly recommend all three of these books for your 4-8 year old crowd. by @wordsbyching

Seeing my manuscripts printed on paper helps me see things that I otherwise miss onscreen. It's literally a new perspective and so helpful for revisions. I put on my editing hat and go wild with markups. How often do you print out your works in progress?

Congrats @lisariddiough on the second book in her Forest School of Big Feelings series: FURIOUS TURTLE (Disney • Hyperion), illustrated by Andrea Tsurumi. The lesson of the day is that picture books are short and you WILL miss storytime if you can't get your twins out the door, arriving 15 minutes late. But it was a joy meeting Lisa, getting free cookies, and getting our signed copies! taken in Linden Tree Children's Books by @wordsbyching

Wow, @sljournal! An incredibly well-curated and well-organized virtual event. So glad I got to spend the day as a #picturebookpalooza attendee browsing the exhibition halls and tuning into talks. The educators and librarians did such an amazing job moderating and the presenters certainly delivered. Can't wait for next year!
