Let's talk about working from home, while parenting young children while also trying to stay on top of keeping your home cleanly… Working, parenting and living all in the same space needs to be talked about more.

I don’t know if other moms feel this too, but when my space gets cluttered, my mind feels cluttered.

It’s harder to think clearly.
It’s harder to stay patient.
It’s harder to focus on work.
It’s harder to feel calm in my own body.

And with small kids, the house can turn into a disaster so quickly.

One minute everything feels okay, and the next there’s laundry waiting, dishes in the sink, toys everywhere, and a random blow dryer sitting in the middle of the bedroom because one of your kids decided to use it and just… left it there.

It sounds small, but all of those little things add up.

I’ve learned that keeping some kind of rhythm in our home really does help my nervous system.

Not a perfect house.
Not a spotless house.
Just a rhythm that helps me feel like I can breathe and think clearly again.

Because when your home is also your workspace, your living space, your parenting space, and the place everyone comes back to all day long, it can take a toll.

I’m still figuring it out too, but as a mom of three and someone who works from home, I’ve realized that caring for my space is also part of caring for myself.

And if you’re a mom trying to do it all in one environment, I hope you know you’re not alone and that you're doing a great job. 💛

P.S. comment "WFH Mom" if you are struggling to find your rhythm and I will share with you what has helped me find mine.

Nici and Nick described parenting in two words: chaos and busy.

And honestly, so many parents can probably relate.

You try to plan the day, but parenting has a way of changing the plan pretty quickly. Between work, family life, activities, appointments, and trying to be good parents through it all, the days can feel full from start to finish.

But that is real family life.

Busy because you care.

Chaotic because kids are kids.

And meaningful because you are doing your best to show up for the people you love.

Thank you @mib_northidaho , Nici and Nick, for sharing such an honest parent perspective with us. 💛

What word would you use to describe parenting right now?

What a privilege it is to be home, to work, and to witness my children growing right in front of me. These little moments may feel ordinary now, but I know they’re the ones I’ll treasure most. 🤍

Any other work-from-home moms feel this too?

We asked local parents what excites them most about Work & Play, and their answers all came back to the same feeling:

More support.
More focus.
More breathing room.

A place where kids can play nearby, parents can get things done, and families can feel a little less pulled in every direction.

Hearing these answers reminds us why we are building this with the community from the very beginning.

Thank you to every parent who stopped by, shared your thoughts, and helped us better understand what families are looking for. 💛

What would excite you most about a space like Work & Play?

Work & Play is not being built from a perfect office or a perfectly quiet schedule.

It is being built in the middle of real parent life.

The interruptions.
The full days.
The love.
The chaos.
The dream of creating something that makes life feel a little more supported for families.

Because working parents are not asking for perfection.

They are asking for a better way to do both.

That is what Work & Play is all about. 💛

Follow along as we build this with local families in mind.

We asked @annefarrens_official to describe parenting in one word.

Her answer was: chaotic.

And honestly, so many parents understand that feeling.

When schedules are always shifting, routines are hard to keep, and you are constantly tag-teaming just to make the day work, parenting can feel full in every direction.

But when we asked her favorite part about being a mom, her answer was simple.

The love.

The kind of love that makes the chaos worth it.

Thank you, Anne, for sharing such a real and beautiful look at motherhood with us. 💛

What’s one word you would use to describe parenting right now?

A little Work & Play progress update 💛

The investor pitch decks are coming together, meetings are being lined up, and we’re taking the next steps toward securing the support needed to bring this vision to life.

We’re also in the early stages of the Work & Play Foundation, created to offer additional support to families who may need it most.

Still early. Still building. Still moving forward.

Thank you for following along as Work & Play continues to take shape. 💛

Some parents don’t need another “just wake up earlier” tip.

They need support that actually fits real life.

Because trying to work, parent, build, clean, answer messages, make snacks, and still be present for your family is a lot.

That is why Work & Play is coming to life.

For parents who care deeply about their work and their family, and need a better way to hold both.

For the moms who are doing their best in the middle of loud houses, full schedules, little needs, big emotions, and everything in between.

Motherhood can be beautiful and exhausting at the same time.

You can love your children deeply and still need a moment to breathe.
You can be grateful for your family and still need support.
You can be doing your best and still feel stretched thin.

That is the heart behind Work & Play.

Creating more support for real parents in real life. 🤍

“Eventful.”

That was Heaven’s word for parenting right now.

And with a little one growing, talking more, and becoming more of themselves every day, it makes so much sense.

This season can feel busy and nonstop, but it is also the season where you get to watch their personality bloom right in front of you.

And the love?

It just keeps growing.

Thank you, Heaven, for reminding us how beautiful this season of parenting can be. 💛

Parents, what word would you use for the season you are in right now?

The heart behind Work & Play will always be family. 💛

The sweet moments, the full days, the messy parts, and the days where your kids need you more than anything else.

This is real parent life.

And it is exactly why support matters.

Work & Play is being built for families who are trying to work, care, show up, and still have room to enjoy the life they are building.

Trying to work from home with kids nearby sounds simple… until you actually have to do it.

Joseph, a local business owner (@bugleconstruction ) and dad of five, shared how hard it can be to separate work time from kid time when your kids are around and watching you.

That constant pull between wanting to focus and wanting to be available is something so many parents understand.

Thank you, Joseph, for sharing your perspective with us.

Parents, have you felt this too?
