I guess it’s time we properly introduce ourselves. We are Working Class Action Network, Antelope Valley’s group of likeminded community members from diverse backgrounds who recognize our struggles for liberation are intertwined and inextricable. We are committed to making sure our fellow proletariat’s needs (and some wants, when we’re able) are met, no questions asked, no strings attached. 🤝

the first (and hopefully not the last)
Big Rock Creek Community Clean up!

The antelope valley is having one of the biggest issues we’ve ever seen in our lives and that’s the illegal dumping of trash.
we call it the Antelope Valley Trash-demic.

well, we decided to organize our very first community based event around trying to get the creek cleaned up. the goal is simple.
clean the creek from paradise springs drive all the way down to Big Pines Road or add much as we can handle in a full work days time.
if we can get enough people together, I’m sure we can make it happen.

the creek had been pretty much destroyed by crowds of people utilizing the water as a place to cool off, but leaving messes of all kinds of trash behind. from food waste, to furniture to do much more.
we can see the negative discourse surrounding the Creek in almost every social media platform so we’re calling on the community to come together and take responsibility to keep our gathering places clean for future use.
I know it’s not just people using the spots for cooling off but companies illegally dumping as well so let’s come together and do that we can to clean the creek.

if you live in the AV and can spare the time, please come help. fill up a trash bag. even if you come and pick up just 1 piece of trash. come and help clean up our community.

It’s the last supply distribution of September! Everyone knows that’s the best one!
Stop by our biweekly supply distro to grab a (free!) bite to eat, some supply essentials, and meet a new neighbor or two! We’ve got free food, supplies, medicine, education, and entertainment!
Send us a DM for the location, we’d love to see you!

WeCAN is not a charity but a mutual aid group made up of AV’s working class community, giving and receiving help as equals.
We are radically inclusive and meet each other where we are. Charities and government institutions set up means tests and barriers to access support, but our mutual aid is open to all and based on deep trust.
When we practice mutual aid, we see others as precious equals who deserve support and happiness.
With your recurring donations, we’re able to:
• Provide a wider range of supplies more consistently
• Provide big-ticket items more frequently
• Plan and prepare for the future
Swipe to see our current requests and how your financial donations will be used. We hope this encourages you to grab an extra case of water at the store or throw in an extra dollar when you can. Every bit is a representation of your solidarity. 🤝💪

About lil about us: WeCAN is NOT a charity. Just a bunch of working-class folks like you, sharing with each other like our lives depend on it (because they do!). Our struggles are all interconnected and our liberation must be also.
Send us a DM for the location, we’d love to see you!
