We’re Kari & Julia, the founders and creative leads behind WORKSHOP | studio — a Dallas-based interior design studio working nationwide across multifamily, hospitality, and commercial spaces.

The photo looks effortless. The 47 pillow adjustments, 12 accessory swaps, and someone standing just out of frame covering the emergency light? Not so much. 😂

Photography day is all about the details. Fluff it. Straighten it. Move it two inches. Step back. Move it again.

Sometimes lighting is the statement. ✨

Apparently, we’ve been unintentionally preparing for the Year of the Horse. 🐎

From artwork to sculptural accessories, we’ve found a surprising number of horses making an appearance across our projects.

Maybe it’s the movement. Maybe it’s the personality. Maybe we just have a thing for a good equestrian moment.

Either way, we’re calling it a trend. 😂

𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 🎨

It’s one of the first things we notice in a space, and one of the easiest ways to influence how that space is experienced.

The right color can make a room feel grounded or energetic, intimate or expansive, warm or cool. It can draw your eye toward a feature, create a sense of connection between spaces, or give an otherwise simple room a strong point of view. ✨

And that’s why color selection is about much more than finding a shade we like.
We’re thinking about how the color interacts with the architecture, the natural light, the materials, the furniture, and ultimately, the people using the space. 🏛️

To prove just how much it matters, we took a few of our finished projects and asked AI to take the color away. 🤖
Same spaces. Same architecture. Same furniture.
Completely different feeling.

Because color isn’t something we add at the end of a project. It’s part of the story we’re telling from the very beginning. 🎨
