What a day. 💚🌏

Across the world, people came together to ask an important question:

What’s the change you want to see for people with cerebral palsy?

You shared your ideas.
You started conversations.
You tagged people who can make change happen.

Thank you for being part of a global community that is #UniqueAndUnited.

50 million people with cerebral palsy around the world.

That’s 50 million different experiences.
50 million perspectives.
50 million reasons for change. 💚

This World Cerebral Palsy Day, you helped bring some of those voices into the conversation — sharing the changes you want to see and asking others to help make them happen.

Meet Chad. 💚

Chad’s change is a shift in expectations.

He wants people with cerebral palsy to have the opportunity to discover what they’re capable of — without someone else deciding their limits for them.

Different doesn’t mean less capable.
Different doesn’t mean less ambitious.
Different doesn’t mean we can’t do hard things.

Sometimes, we just have to do them our way.

Chad wants to see more opportunities for people with cerebral palsy to move, compete, create, lead, work, dream and pursue whatever gives them purpose — with the support to find their own path.

Don’t decide our limits for us. Give us the opportunity to find them ourselves.

That’s Chad’s change. What’s yours?

Share it using #UniqueAndUnited and tag a local leader, business or organisation who can help make it happen.

World Cerebral Palsy Day may be one day but changes need to happen everyday.

Over the past few days, people around the world have shared their voices, their experiences and the changes they want to see for people with cerebral palsy.

And this is only the beginning.

Keep asking what could be better. Keep making space for people with cerebral palsy to be heard. Keep speaking up for the changes that matter.

The change doesn’t stop here. 💚

Meet Diana. 💚

Diana’s change is to see more people with cerebral palsy represented in public policy decision-making, civil society movements and organisations.

For Diana, that means making sure people with cerebral palsy have a voice when decisions are being made that affect their lives — not just in disability policy, but across all areas of society.

She wants policymakers, organisations and institutions, including across the European Union, to recognise that disability rights are everyone’s responsibility.

Because real change happens when people with cerebral palsy are not just represented in the conversation, but are part of shaping the decisions that affect them.

What’s your change?

Share it using #UniqueAndUnited and tag a local leader, business, or organisation who can help make it happen.

Today, people with cerebral palsy around the world are coming together to call for change. 🌏💚

Our change is clear: formal United Nations recognition of 6 October as World Cerebral Palsy Day.

Recognition is more than a date on the calendar. It can help keep cerebral palsy on the global agenda — supporting greater awareness, research, services, inclusion and opportunity.

Now, we need your support.

Add your voice to the call for UN recognition and help make 6 October a formally recognised global day for the 50 million people with cerebral palsy worldwide.

BIG MEDIA DAY PART TWO 🤩

Made sure @worldcpday got maximum media coverage by popping up on @channel9 Afternoon News in Sydney too for a quick chat with @deborah_knight about our @unitednations campaign for World Cerebral Palsy Day and why it matters that the Australian Government leads the charge!

The privilege of being given these platforms is never ever lost on me and I am so grateful every day 💚 It’s an honour to represent 50 million people and the disabled community at large with my story and perspective, knowing of course that we all have such a wide variety of needs, experiences and views. Forever pushing that our vibrant visibility and variety is more heavily valued and seen by the world ✨ Lots of work still to do but I’m ready 💪🏼 by @worldcpday
