In case you missed it, we've launched our Autumn Appeal, and during Big Match Fortnight (7-21 October), every donation will be doubled.

An urgent opportunity has arisen to protect land in two globally important conservation landscapes in Bolivia and South Africa.

In Bolivia, agricultural expansion is threatening vital habitat. With your support, we can help secure one of the last strongholds of the Critically Endangered Blue-throated Macaw, with only around 700 individuals remaining in the wild.

In South Africa, Leopards and other iconic wildlife face increasing pressure as habitats become fragmented by commercial land use. We have the chance to strengthen a vital wildlife corridor by securing threatened land before it is lost.

By protecting these landscapes, we can give some of the world's most endangered species the space they need to survive and thrive.

Donate between 7 and 21 October and your gift will go twice as far, helping to safeguard these critical habitats for wildlife. 💚

Two Threatened Landscape. One Urgent Mission. 🚨

An urgent opportunity has arisen to secure land in two globally important conservation landscapes.

In Bolivia, only around 700 Blue-throated Macaws remain in the wild. Agricultural expansion is putting vital habitat at risk, but we have a small window of opportunity to protect one of the species' last strongholds before it's lost.

In South Africa, iconic wildlife such as Leopards face growing pressure as habitats become fragmented. By securing threatened land, we can help strengthen a crucial wildlife corridor and keep landscapes connected.

This is a chance to protect wildlife in two biodiversity hotspots.

And if you donate during Big Match Fortnight (7-21 October), your gift will be doubled through matched funding, meaning your support can go twice as far for nature.

As we continue to celebrate our patron Sir David Attenborough's 100th year, we're highlighting 100 remarkable species that showcase the extraordinary diversity of life on Earth.

In our eighth instalment, we're turning the spotlight on insects 🐜🦋🐝

Meet...
Rainbow Cuckoo Wasp - A dazzling jewel-coloured wasp that lays its eggs in other insects' nests, earning it the title of the "cuckoo of the wasp world."
Tortoise Beetle – Some tortoise beetles can change colour from shimmering gold to reddish-brown when disturbed, making them one of the insect world's most surprising shape-shifters.
Honeybee - A single honeybee can visit up to 5,000 flowers in one day while collecting nectar and pollen.
Dragon Mantis - This remarkable mantis mimics a dragonfly, helping it evade predators and ambush prey.
Luna Moth - Adult Luna moths do not eat or drink because they emerge from their cocoons without a functional mouth or a digestive system. They live for just a week, focused solely on reproduction.
Hairy Dragonfly - Dragonflies spend most of their lives underwater before emerging as skilled aerial hunters.
Leafcutter Ant - Rather than eating the leaves they collect, leafcutter ants use them to cultivate a fungus food source.
Monarch Butterfly - Famous for one of the world's longest insect migrations, travelling up to 3,000 miles (4,800 km).
Orchard Spider - Creates intricate circular webs decorated with striking zig-zag silk patterns.
Paula's Clearwing Butterfly - Transparent wings help this beautiful butterfly disappear into its surroundings.

Which species is your favourite, and why? 💚

The return of the Blue-throated Macaw is one of conservation's most remarkable success stories.

Once thought to be on the brink of extinction, this extraordinary bird has made an inspiring comeback thanks to years of dedicated conservation work. But recovery doesn't happen overnight, and it doesn't happen by accident.

For nearly two decades, World Land Trust supporters have helped protect vital habitat in Bolivia alongside our partner Asociación Armonía, giving Blue-throated Macaws the space they need to survive and thrive.

Their story shows what can happen when people come together to protect nature.

Meet the El Rincón Stream Frog. 🐸

At just 3-4 cm long, this tiny amphibian is found nowhere else on Earth but the warm spring-fed streams of Argentina's rugged Somuncurá Plateau.

Spending almost its entire life in water, its mottled skin helps it blend into its surroundings and avoid predators. But with such a small range, the species is highly vulnerable to habitat loss and changes to its water sources.

Thanks to conservation efforts, there is hope. Through WLT's Buy an Acre programme, our partners are working to expand protection for the Somuncurá Plateau, safeguarding the El Rincón Stream Frog and the many other species that call it home.

Help protect this remarkable frog and its habitat. Find out more via the link in our bio. 💚

The long hot summer is over. But climate change hasn't gone away.

Climate change is causing more extreme weather around the world, from wildfires to floods and droughts. The effects are devastating for nature, communities and wildlife alike.

The good news? There is still hope. 🌱

Nature has an extraordinary ability to recover when we give it the chance. By protecting threatened habitats and restoring degraded landscapes, we can help wildlife thrive while tackling the climate and nature crises together.

That's why programmes like our Action Fund matter. As pressures on the natural world continue to grow, it's more important than ever that conservation action can happen where it's needed most.

Action Fund provides flexible support to our conservation partners around the world. Every donation helps fund vital work, from purchasing and protecting land to defending habitats against wildfires and supporting experienced rangers on the ground.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve reached the full fundraising target for our Act Now for Orangutans appeal.

Thanks to our amazing World Land Trust supporters, our partner @hutan.earth now has the £287,871 needed to secure 16 ha (40.1 acres) of critically important forest within Borneo’s Kinabatangan floodplain.

The purchase of this land will extend Hutan’s existing Sungai Sukau wildlife corridor and connect more vital forest patches – crucial work in a landscape that has been left heavily fragmented by deforestation.

Connecting forest here will also help to create safe pathways for threatened species like the Critically Endangered Northeast Bornean Orangutan and the Endangered Bornean Elephant .

Find out more about what your donations to the appeal will help us achieve by heading to the link in our bio. by @worldlandtrust
