My late father: Vern James Thielen
November 06, 1922-September 26, 1988.
Died 38 years ago today in Mountain View, CA @65 from pancreatic cancer. Funeral & resting place Key West Cemetery, Dubuque Iowa. Always said he didn’t know how he had time to work as he enjoyed retirement-aka-golf so much; hence only 3 years. Retired December 1982 & my parents moved from Minneapolis to southern (Escondido) CA. by @worldofdblu

Such a wonderful day meeting Bob Mackie!
August, 1992 Hotel Whitney. Dayton-Hudson Southdale Vendor breakfast for the Cosmetics Fragrance department. Bob was in town introducing his signature Mackie fragrance. I was the Counter/Salon Manager for Adrien Arpel (Esthetics/Makeup). They were so kind to invite me because l was a Barbie Collector and he graciously signed his first 3 Mackie dolls.
