A recipe from the 18th century. Three simple ingredients. And one of Scotland’s most beloved local treats.

Meet Scottish tablet — a traditional confection made with milk, butter and sugar, cooked slowly into a rich, crumbly sweetness that melts in your mouth.

For nearly 300 years, tablet has been woven into the fabric of Scottish life. Served at weddings and christenings, offered with afternoon tea, and found on the tea trays of cosy B&Bs, it’s Scotland’s answer to the little sweet treat that accompanies our coffee. Simple enough to make at home, yet special enough to seek out at a local, small-batch confectioner.

For Michelin-starred chef, author and restaurateur @chefvineet MBE, mentor chef of Ziya at The Oberoi, Mumbai, its appeal is deeply familiar:

“It reminds me of the mithai I grew up eating in India, where a few simple ingredients are cooked slowly, with care, until they become something special.”

Perhaps that’s the beauty of local food. What looks unassuming often holds centuries of tradition, a sense of place, and a story worth travelling for.

Along the walls of these temples, stories from the epics unfold as devotees walk around the shrine. Sculpture becomes part of that passage, giving belief a visible form and a sequence to follow.

Some inscriptions preserve further details about the maker, including lineage and titles. Across the centuries, the work still carries a connection to the person who made it.

Knowing this changes the encounter. Your eye returns to the jewellery, the posture, the small curve of a leaf. Someone studied these things. Someone understood how to translate them into stone. The temple begins to reveal a world of expertise alongside the world of faith it was built to serve.

Belur and Halebidu form one chapter of NĀDA, our longer journey through Karnataka and Kerala.

By the time a strand of jasmine reaches someone’s hands, it has already had quite a morning.
Picked, gathered, brought to market. Turned between fingers and tied into place. Around it, flowers are being chosen for temple offerings, doorways and the small rituals that give an ordinary day its shape.
Follow them back to the market and you find yourself in the middle of it all: heaps of yellow and orange, rose petals spilling over a basket’s edge, voices overlapping as someone reaches across to inspect a garland. There is tea to pause over, a soft weight of flowers in the palm, fragrance following you through the lane.
In Mysore, mallige offers another reason to linger. Its jasmine blooms can be arranged in delicate strands or gathered densely together, secured with banana fibre or cotton thread. Watch the fingers at work; there is a rhythm to the tying.
Much later, a passing trace of jasmine might bring that morning back. You remember the colour, the voices, where you stopped and what held your attention.
At SEVN, we believe travel is experienced through all the senses. Those details shape the journeys we create, from a morning in a local market to the meal you find yourself talking about long after you’re home.

Look closer, travel deeper.
Some places reveal themselves immediately.

Others take their time.

In the changing light, the sound of water, the quiet between one moment and the next — you begin to notice things you might otherwise have passed by.

At SEVN, we’re interested in that slower kind of discovery. The point where you stop simply moving through a place and begin to understand its rhythm.

Because the unknown isn’t always somewhere new.

Sometimes, it’s waiting inside the familiar.

Discover journeys shaped by curiosity.

An encounter can begin with a trace. The wild arc follows the details that turn a highland view into a landscape coming alive.

What makes a place sacred?

Sometimes, it is not something you visit at all. It is something that has quietly become part of everyday life carried through ritual, landscape, memory and repetition.

For SEVN, Kerala and the Sacred South is an invitation to witness that rhythm from within.
Not simply to see it, but also to live it.
To spend enough time with it to begin to understand it.

Not everything sacred announces itself as such.
Sometimes it is a gesture repeated every morning. A song carried across generations. A relationship with land, water, food or faith that has endured long enough to become simply a way of life.
The Sacred Arc journeys towards these traditions with curiosity and respect.
Not to observe them from a distance.
To understand, however briefly, the world from within them. by @worldofsevn

The wild is not somewhere untouched by people.
It is somewhere that reminds us we were never really in charge.
The Wild Arc moves through landscapes where animals, terrain and distance determine the rhythm of the day.
Less insulation. Less certainty.
A little closer to the world as it is. by @worldofsevn

The map becomes less certain at the water’s edge.
Beyond it are islands, coastlines, reefs and depths that operate according to a rhythm entirely their own.

The Oceanic Arc is for journeys drawn towards that vastness above the surface and beneath it.

Curiosity has always pulled us towards places that feel beyond our reach.
Too remote. Too hidden. Too inaccessible. Too unfamiliar.

The Forbidden Arc follows that instinct opening doors to culturally concealed and geographically distant worlds through knowledge, context and people who understand them from within.

Sometimes the destination comes second.
First comes the thing you cannot stop thinking about.

A book. A cuisine. A musician. A landscape. A piece of history. An obscure obsession you would happily cross the world to understand better.

This is where the Seeker’s Arc begins.

You bring the curiosity, and we help you follow it, no matter wherever it leads. by @worldofsevn

There are places where almost everything disappears.
Noise. Crowds. Roads. Sometimes even the horizon.

The Polar Arc takes us towards the edges of the world into ice, silence, long light, dark skies and landscapes that have very little interest in us.

Perhaps that is precisely the point.
