What if something as simple as changing a recipe could change a child's future? 🥣

For five-year-old Yesica from Guatemala, it did.

Struggling with malnutrition, Yesica wasn't getting the nutrients she needed to grow and thrive. Her family couldn't always afford nutritious food, making it difficult to give her the healthy start she needed.

Through World Vision's nutrition programme, her family learned how to turn affordable, locally available ingredients into healthy meals.
Meal by meal, Yesica grew stronger. 🌱

Today, she's a healthy weight and thriving, with more opportunities to play, learn and discover what's possible. 🧡

With the right support, girls like Yesica can grow, thrive and explore a future full of possibilities. ✨

What happens when one girl shares what she’s learned?

Kimberly, 12, from Honduras, learned early that menstruation is normal. Her mother had little information about menstruation growing up and was teased when her body began to change. Girls in their community also struggled to manage their periods without clean water or proper toilets.

With World Vision’s support, the community now has clean water and good sanitation. Through our Charlemos programme, Kimberly learned about menstrual hygiene, body care and self-respect.

Today, she’s passing that knowledge on, helping other girls understand their bodies and feel confident asking questions. 🧡

World Vision is helping girls like Kimberly access the knowledge and facilities they need and share what they learn with others.

Why do people choose to leave a gift in their Will to World Vision? 💭

For Sunny, it's knowing that "there will be children, communities and families that will remember that they were given a helping hand."

For Hugh, it's helping children "far less fortunate than ours and our grandchildren were."

For Lizzie, it's the thought that "after my loved ones have been looked after, I could be a blessing to someone truly in need."

And for Anne: "The hope lives on!" ✨

Different stories. Different reasons. One shared belief that children deserve the chance to thrive. 🧡

What would inspire you to leave a lasting gift for future generations?

Discover how a gift in your Will could help create lasting change for children and communities. Request your Gifts in Wills guide today.📖

Yesterday was the International Day of the Girl Child. ❤️

A day to recognise the challenges girls face around the world, raise awareness of the barriers holding them back, and remind us that every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and shape her own future.

One of those barriers is period poverty. Without access to menstrual products and education, managing a period can become an obstacle to education, confidence and everyday life.

Through our Buy One, Give One scheme, we help make menstrual cups accessible to people who need them. And by working alongside organisations like @worldvisionuk we can support wider efforts to improve menstrual health and break down the barriers girls face.

Because real change happens when we go beyond raising awareness and take action. When businesses, charities and communities work together, we can help create a world where every girl has the resources and opportunities she deserves.

Yesterday was a reminder of why this work matters. Today, and every day, the work continues.

Meet Marilena, 16, from Guatemala. Growing up, she saw how harassment made girls feel unsafe and how few opportunities they had to speak up or get involved in their community.

Through World Vision’s peace ambassador workshops and youth leadership opportunities, she began challenging violence and speaking up for girls’ rights. 🧡

Today, she encourages other young people to get involved, stay in education and help build a safer community.

With World Vision’s support, Marilena is helping challenge the attitudes that hold girls back.

“My hope for every girl in my community is to see that everyone is educated.” 💬

Grace used to walk 6km each way to school, travelling on a route that wasn’t always safe and often arriving exhausted and late. With pressure on girls to marry young, staying in education wasn’t always easy.

Thanks to support from World Vision and local partners, Grace gained access to a bicycle, making her journey safer and helping her stay in school. 🚲

Today, she’s thriving and encouraging other girls to pursue their dreams. 🧡

The opportunities Grace and her schoolmates have are possible because people choose to support children and their communities. By leaving a gift in your Will, you could help more children build brighter futures in years to come. ✨
