They say first comes love, then comes marriage, and then comes a baby in a baby carriage…

What they don’t tell you is all that happens before and in between…
•
Before I met my Queen I thought I was the prize. If you know me you’d probably say I was having my way. The streets treated me just fine if I must say so myself. But then came along Lina. I was sitting at Traveler’s Table with Quel and Nic and in comes her fine ass. Time stopped and it was just her walking in slow motion looking like a Jet Magazine Beauty of the week. This wasn’t a moment of love, it was a moment of lust. I walked over to her right as she sat down with her girl (s/o to Janay for not being the hater type and blocking her girl’s blessing). We exchanged brief pleasantries and by the time I got home we were locked in for a date. Fast forward a week or so and it happened. Not just a date, but the realization that this could be love. I don’t even think I was truly ready to revive how deep her love was. Within a month we were talking everyday, I was planning dates every 2-3 days, writing poems every 4 or 5, and she was on my mind all the time. Within 2 months she was at my house or I was at hers. Cooking, cleaning, showing up, and giving me a love I’d never felt before. By month 3 I knew she was the one. I was in Atlanta with my people and for some reason I had no urge to do anything but be with her. So the second I returned to Houston I took her on a date to the same place we met and asked her to be my girl. Life took off after that. By the end of that year we’d traveled the world together, moved in with one another, and in the back of my head I was planning the rest of my life with her.

Fast forward a year or so later and I proposed right before my birthday as a gift to myself. 9 months later we got married in front of our most cherished people and life was good! The morning after our wedding we were about to hit the airport to head out for our honeymoon when Lina woke me up to a pregnancy test and boy I cried dog tears… it was positive. I walked through that airport like the happiest man on Earth. Life was now great! What was supposed to be a trip of drunken love, quickly became a careful b taken in Houston, Texas by @worldwidewille

Community is the real currency.

At Boss Link, we believe group economics isn’t just about making money together. It’s about building together, supporting Black businesses, sharing resources, and creating opportunities that outlive us.

Appreciate @therootsbooksandmarket for opening their doors and pouring into the community. When we support spaces like these, we keep culture, knowledge, and ownership alive.

Another big shout out to @worldwidewille for his insight and powerful book sponsorship.

A rising tide lifts all boats. 🤝🖤

I guess you can say I’ve been a wanderlust since birth. I was born in Chicago but by the time I got to grade school we moved to Killeen, TX. Shortly after we moved to Memphis where I attended 3 different elementary schools (Oakhaven, Germantown, and Germanshire). In middle school we moved to Gwinnett County, GA where I attended 3 different schools as well (Sweetwater, Jones, then Osborne). In high school we moved to McKinney, TX where I attended McKinney North before graduating from Greenhill. I even graduated from two colleges (the best 2 in the world, might I add — argue with ya mama) not to mention starting college at Harvard in the summer of 09’. Knowing this should make it no wonder why I’ve spent my life traveling the world seeing all that God has made and creating community with people both similar and so different from me.
•
PDX holds a special place in my heart for all the reasons every other place does — it was another place where I found the marvels of God’s creation and got to build with great community — but leaving for the last time gave me the same feeling I had when I left my first friend group as a kid. Traveling there for weeks at a time really made it feel like home. I mean we had a whole routine lol. So leaving felt like packing up and moving away from a place so familiar it felt comforting. It also has a lil bit of everything for whatever your taste or speed is.
•
So this here is a [long overdue] ode to all the beauty that Portland brought the Queen and I and the best community we could ask for.
•
#ThingsToDo
- Find great people and do everything they tell you to do. My good people @cedtheceo_ , @____samone , and @sykeswave can tell you everything you need to know

#ThingsToEat
- Kann: Top 5 in the world
- For everything else my good people @gobrosego and @jmvw__ have all the spots that’ll have you craving for more.
•
Sidebar: if you’re into watches, PDX just might be the best places in the western hemisphere to cop grail pieces. 🤫

Anyway, see ya later, PDX. Everetts out✌🏿

Doing what fine wine do.
•
Sights brought to you by excursions out in Sorrento;
Sounds of the sea as you peak your head out the window;
And lemon sour faces from drinking the limoncello.
•
Laughs from love birds and accents of a Sicilian,
Campari on rockin boats have you feelin one in a million
•
Mussels, some red wine, and a spritz for the aperitivo
Came a long way from Vienna sausages and 99 cent bags of hot cheetos.
•
If I ever get rich and go ghost I’ll gon and save the suspense,
We’ll be resting at Capo La Gala down in Vico Equense.

Amalfi before summer’s end.
•
My Queen wanted to hit Italy for our honeymoon and all I had in mind was geeking out roaming Roman ruins and explorations of the Renaissance era. She was like ‘yea babe, but what about sailing the Almafi coast with Limoncellos’. Of course I obliged; and of course she knew what we needed (minus them limoncellos. I don’t know how to say trash in Italian but 🗑️). All of the love birds should fly to Amalfi Coast at some point. Pics don’t do it justice but I tried.
•
#ThingsToDo
- Cruise the Amalfi Coast: needs no explanation - book a boat and set sail and you might even end up in a movie👀. Hit me if you need recs.
- Chill at Marina Grande: at the base of Positano is this small section of beach that makes the hike down worth it. Seafront vibes with the most picturesque backdrop provided by “the vertical city”.
- Town hop: along the Lattari Mountains overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea are these tiny, colorful towns that makeup the Amalfi Coast. Each has its own unique essence. Spend a day or two exploring them to find your spot.
•
#ThingsToEat
- Pietra Piana: how about a 5⭐️, 5 course dinner overlooking Positano? Nuff said. You’re welcome.
- Terraza Cele: can’t ever call me a gatekeeper. If it’s like that I’ll always share and this place is like that. From the plating to the flavor you know that the chefs take great pride in their craft and it carries throughout the whole team taking care of you.
- Ristorante da Teresa: you can only get here by boat, making it a true hidden gem. I don’t do nike techs nor quarter zips. I like my linen shirts open while eating fresh seafood and watching the sunset. If that’s your vibe, go on the adventure to get here.
•
To know me is to know how much I love Cape Town, but this place brought some competition to my preference. I wish for all the hard workers and couples to take a relaxing vacation in Amalfi Coast. You deserve it.

12 hours in Tuscany
•
We’ve got one life to live and I figure I might as well make the most of it so during our stay in Florence we took a road trip to see a piece of the Tuscany region and it didn’t disappoint!
•
#ThingsToDo
- The Leaning Tower of Pisa: I watched A Goofy Movie on a plane a few years back (sidebar: Eye 2 Eye went platinum in my house growing up) and it wasn’t until that moment that I realized this place was real… But Pisa has a lot more than the leaning tower. It’s one of the most scenic little towns I’ve ever been to and full of art.
- Siena: romantic and medieval, this small city played a huge part in Italian history and we took a guided tour to learn about it. They have this concept of contrades that defines what community one belongs to and each community has its own identify to explore. From the massive renaissance duomos to the avant garde architecture, there’s a lot to see and learn. Also, don’t leave without copping some leather. I don’t know what they got going on out there but it’s somehow soft as butter.
- San Gimignano: I still can’t pronounce this town but it’s something like Italy’s Napa Valley. The locals call it the Medieval Manhattan because of the medieval towers that make up the skyline. We didn’t get to see it, though, because wine…

#ThingsToEat
- Fattoria Poggio Alloro: located in San Gimignano, this place is a BnB, a vineyard, and a restaurant. 12 hours won’t make me an expert but of the places we tried throughout Tuscany this spot was worth the mention.
- Chocolates in Siena: a lil chocolate is good for the soul and it’s something about that hazelnut and pistachio chocolates you can find at the chocolatiers around Piazza del Campo.
- Gelateria Dondoli: I can’t remember how it became famous but apparently this is the world’s most famous and awarded gelateria. We bit on the hype and waited in the line for it. Thanks to kind strangers it was definitely worth the [relatively short] wait.
•
I’m a sucker for open air and quaint places off the beaten path and these pockets of the vast Tuscany region did it for me. If you’re thinking of a place to take it slow, find it under the Tuscan sun.

When I first heard Lloyd Banks say “I’m eating in Rome and you eating [roman] noodles” I was 12 years old. My daily routine was to come home, put my school bags down, and turn on 106&park as I ate a bowl of ramen noodles after school… I was just about to mix in the chicken seasoning when I heard those motivating words. Not all heroes wear g-unit headbands…
•
Being in Rome was a dream fulfilled. I’ve been into Latin history since I studied it in high school and after all these trips you’d think I would’ve come a lot sooner. Good thing life led me to see some dreams differently. After a bittersweet stay in Florence us newly weds took the scenic route down to Rome and all we did was… eat n roam… (that’s a bar or my dad joke gene is starting kick in. Maybe both.)
•
#ThingsToDo
- The Colosseum: you can’t go to Rome and not see this official World Wonder. You’ve gotta be strategic to get tickets but even just being on the grounds feels surreal.
- Palatine Hill: right next door to the Colosseum is what is known to be the birthplace of Rome. You can get your steps in by walking the whole area or you can ride bikes and scooters around the cobbled roads to view the site like we did (and highly recommend).
- Trevi Fountain: I’m not superstitious but I’m not splitting a pole for nobody and I will always visit this fountain to toss a coin. Tradition says if you toss a coin over your shoulder then you’ll return to Rome so since we barely spent 24 hrs in Rome I’d say I’m a man who knows how to prioritize.
•
#ThingsToEat
High key the food we had was mid and we pretty much had a mix of local suggestions and online reviews. Lowkey I think many restaurants use bots to pump reviews. So I can’t suggest any quality eats but if you have any please do share the love. My baby deserved better than everything we had. And what’s with the hype around suppli? We need explanations for that experience.
•
We barely scratched the surface so we gotta get that return in queue soon. Even if you’re like us and go places just to get lost in the city sometimes, Rome is a great spot for that. Amongst what feels like walking in 200 AD, is a city that barely sleeps. Viva Roma!
