WORTH A READ.

It’s All in Your Head by Russ.

This book is really about belief, discipline, persistence, and trusting yourself before the world gives you a reason to.

That is what stayed with me.

A lot of us keep waiting for more confidence, more money, more connections, or more proof before we move.

Sometimes the proof does not come first.

Sometimes you have to believe in something while it still looks ridiculous to everybody else.

Stop waiting for professional conditions. Use what you have. Build where you are.

And this idea stuck with me most:

Sometimes the wings are built during the fall.

Sometimes you do not become ready and then jump.

You jump first.

And somewhere on the way down, you become who you needed to be.

Quick read. Clear message.

THE SPOTLIGHT

Sometimes
the spotlight feels lonely.

Not because nobody is there.

That might be the strangest part.

Lights above me.
Faces in front of me.

The room can be full
and somehow
you can still feel like
you are standing there by yourself.

Everybody is looking,

but everybody is looking
from somewhere different.

Somebody sees me
from the front row.

Somebody sees me
from the balcony.

Somebody caught me
from the side of the stage
on a night I wasn’t at my best.

Somebody else
only remembers
when the light hit me just right.

And somehow
everybody thinks
their seat
gave them the whole story.

They question the confidence
without knowing the nights
I questioned myself.

Discredit the stage
because they never saw
the stairs I had to climb
to get here.

They see the light.

They don’t see
what it took
to stand underneath it.

Nobody has to tell me
people are watching.

I can feel it.

Nobody has to remind me
my name carries expectations.

I hear it
every time the room gets quiet.

That is the pressure.

The kind nobody has to place on you.

Because once people
have seen you shine,

sometimes they forget
you are still allowed
to have dark days.

Still allowed
to stumble.

Still allowed
to be uncertain.

Still allowed
to learn how to stand
inside something
you worked your whole life
to reach.

Every day I have to choose.

Will I feed my ego…

Or my faith?

Will I chase applause…

Or purpose?

Will I spend my energy proving…

Or becoming?

I’m learning that God has never asked me to control the narrative.

He’s only asked me to be faithful.

Because what He builds doesn’t need defending.

Only obedience.

So today…

I release the need to explain myself.

I release the need to answer every critic.

I release the need to rush what only time can reveal.

The people who are meant to see me…

Will.

The doors meant to open…

Will.

The purpose written over my life…

Will.

Not because I forced it.

Because God finished what He started.

This isn’t weakness.

This is warfare.

And for the first time…

I’m learning that sometimes the greatest victory isn’t throwing another punch.

It’s putting the sword down…

…and trusting God to fight for me. by @worth_underlining_
