Great to visit @leokoeniginc recently in his beautiful, newly renovated gallery space in the #catskillmountains, near the farm where i have maintained an artist residency for many years.

Congrats to the diverse group of artists participating in the current exhibition “Paint your life!,” curated by @ryansteadmanpainting.

Trying to process everything i saw in Venice earlier this week…the Biennale proved disappointing, but many of the off-site/collateral projects were incredible. Just a small, random sampling of images here, but if you are planning to visit, Im happy to provide a highlight list. DM me:)

In @artnews this week, APAA Executive Members Candace Worth (@worthartadvisory) and Megan Fox Kelly (@meganfoxkelly) share their perspective on the broader market following @christiesinc’ $1.1 billion sale.

“The art market needs to be defined much more broadly than just these super high-end blue-chip works that transact publicly,” Candace notes. “There’s the gallery market, private sales, advisory businesses, younger galleries, and smaller fairs—all different strands.”

Megan adds: “When collectors see extraordinary works making extraordinary prices, they assume the market is up for everything. But those sales don’t automatically lift the value of everything else.”
