☀️ The Summer Issue is here — "The Bold & The Beautiful." Our new digital edition is live now. Link in bio to read.

On the cover: West Palm Beach artist Allie Kirschner, who builds Florida's birds one magazine clipping at a time — layering cut paper over gold leaf into portraits that are already finding their way into galleries. (There's a video interview waiting for you inside, too.)

From there we pull up a chair at Lynora's, where the Abbenante family is marking 50 years of treating a restaurant like an invitation to their own table, and we head downtown, where the murals have started to move: point your phone at the walls and watch Big Sam's optimism take flight, thanks to the new Downtown WPB Unlocked app.

There's more to get into: a grip-rip-dip breakfast run to PopUp Bagels at CityPlace, a summer recipe worth turning the oven on for, and a travel story that dares you to rediscover the Florida hiding a few hours up the road — the springs, the Forgotten Coast, the islands you've driven past for years.

It's a colorful, confident issue about being fully yourself in this city, at this moment. Come see what we made. 💛

Hardcopy distribution to subscribers starts this week.

Lani Goodrich started Avenue Pottery with a discarded kiln, YouTube tutorials, and a backyard studio. Today, her Dixie Highway workshop supplies handmade stoneware to local restaurants and has become a gathering place where an 80-year-old named Jack drops in most mornings just to talk, learn, and feel connected.

Her fascinating story is our featured #art profile in our spring issue.

It all starts with a lump of clay....

Read it now, see photos and watch the entire video at wpbmagazine.com/digital to learn about Lani and the movement she's creating. taken in Avenue Pottery by @wpbmagazine

Brothers Christian and Alex Le Clainche turned a grandfather’s unrealized dream of growing Jamaican coffee into Pumphouse Coffee, a homegrown brand now expanding from its 8,000-square-foot Pouratorium to a downtown café, Palm Beach International Airport, and a donut shop in Flamingo Park.

In the warehouse district, behind blue roll-up doors that read ‘If You Hate Bad Coffee, We Should Be Friends,’ the smell of roasting #coffee beans hits you before you even walk through the door at Pumphouse Coffee Pouratorium.

Here, a daily ritual turns into a multisensory experience, part café, part roastery, part lab, where the communal draw of universal brew lovers meets the industrial charm two local brothers have created.

"Stories told by Wilkine all tie together into a unifying theme: community and the bonds that connect us." - Writes Sandra Schulman.

The spring issue is out now. Our cover belongs to Wilkine Brutus, an award-winning WLRN journalist whose place-based storytelling captures the cultural richness of Palm Beach County in ways that press releases and ribbon cuttings never could.

He typically covers local news, arts and culture, current affairs, and stories that are extremely important for the community, or how a particular policy works in a particular community. But what brings him the most joy is arts and culture, because, for him, art still has a political undertone, allowing people to explore how a community functions through the lens of the #arts.

Brutus has been able to merge those beats.

Available on newsstands: “Our @wpbmagazine cover belongs to Wilkine Brutus, an award-winning WLRN/NPR journalist whose place-based storytelling captures the cultural richness of Palm Beach County in ways that press releases and ribbon cuttings never could.

From documenting a FAMU-led community garden that tackles food scarcity to profiling the Hungarian enclave in Lake Worth Beach, Brutus finds the deeper narrative beneath the surface. His work reminds us that the most powerful stories are often the ones hiding in plain sight — at a commission meeting, a neighborhood dance night, or a mother’s refugee journey retold across a kitchen table.”

“Stories told by Wilkine Brutus all tie together into a unifying theme: community and the bonds that connect us”

Profile written by Sandra Schulman.

Photo shoot location: @offtheclockeditions and Lake Worth City Hall

You can read the rest on the digital version via WPB magazine.com or order physical copy. It’ll be on physical newsstands soon.
