While social media is a great way to keep in touch, the Winnipeg rave scene can really benefit from having a public group chat where people can communicate in real time! I think this is key for strengthening our community.

Discord is a great chat application that allows us to organize our conversations into different categories so everyone can find their vibe. We’ve already got close to 70 active users! It’s been a great way to share music, event details, knowledge, and organize things!

I am known as a staple on the rave scene dance floor, vibing with sunglasses on and my hat pulled low.
This two year bday project has me transitioning from the floor to behind the decks under the tutilage of Upcycle Sounds .

My years as a dancer has helped me develop an ear for choice song selections and how they impact the energy of the room.

My sound? I’m currently cooking some Nu Tech House flavours, serving up heaping spoonfuls of yummy beats

I don’t always know what to call my sound but I know what I like, I trust my instincts and choose what will shake rumps.

Many don’t know that I grew up in a small town environment that didn’t allow me to express myself and my interests. I had to hide my music and clothing preferences just to stay safe.

This project has been helpful in reshaping my past and learn that it’s okay to be different.
I have found the rave community to be a welcoming and safe space that has allowed me to become more myself than I’ve ever been. My goal is to inspire and encourage that authentic energy so others can experience this freedom too.

I have been having fun exploring my musicality, finding my sound, and a new way to express my creativity.

I am grateful for my friends, the ones on the dance floor and the ones behind the decks. You all make me smile and inspire me to learn - this keeps me young, weird and whimsical.
